My original intent, three yrs. ago, was to list my comics from the 40s and 50s & my 45s from the 50s, but I decided to follow the forum's cardinal rule of not listing what I was not prepared to lose.
Today, I searched, but was unable to locate a page dealing with local pick-up. Please assist as to if a buyer is able to claim an INAD and/or does the MBG apply.

Returns for local pickup listings should be treated the same as other delivery options. If the buyer returns an item because it's faulty or it isn't as described in the listing, they can return it to you even if your return policy states you don't accept returns.
If the buyer simply changed their mind and you stated in your listing that you don't accept returns, you're not obliged to accept their return request. See our article on how to handle a return request as a seller for more information.
To protect yourself against item-not-received cases, proof of pickup is required
See full policy in the link below. But to answer your question, yes MBG will apply.

Diva,
Thank you for locating the area I had failed to find. After reading the page, I quickly put a kibosh to my idea.

NEVER ACCEPT a electronic form of payment for items that are picked up.
The buyer is free to file a claim with their bank, credit card company or payment processor that is entirely separate of eBay's empty claims of seller protection.
You cannot specifically say cash only in your description. Instead eBay allows you to place a statement similar to the one below in your description:
"Contact me for pickup payment methods prior to purchase."
The buyer legally bound to contact before purchase; otherwise there is no valid sales contract.
When the buyer contacts you then you indicate its CASH only via eBay messages.
eBay can force you to list a electronic form of payment on the listings, but they can't force you to use it.
You should also tell the buyer no bills over $20 bills as they are less likely to be counterfeit than say $100 bills. Get a counterfeit bill checker pen to at least check random bills. The local Goodwill checks anything from a $20 bill and up.
The buyer had ample time to inspect the items at pickup.

And refusing an electronic payment for a local pick up item will cause a defect on the sellers account. Ive had several pick up items paid with Paypal after I suggested cash only to the buyer. Never a problem as the buyer can check out the item with pick up. As a blue told me, snad items with local pick up are very rare, and decided on a case to case basis.Of course it doesnt stop the buyer from going to their cc for a chargeback, but from what I understand, because the buyer picked up and inspected the item..that can cause a problem for a refund.

it isn't as described in the listing, they can return it to you even if your return policy states you don't accept returns.
While the seller can demand the return of the disputed goods even with a No Returns policy, it would be more precise to say that the buyer can get a return even if the item is not returned, basically because the seller abandons it.
Or No Returns does not mean No Refunds.

I haven't used it, but there is a QR code (option?) that can be used to confirm that the transaction has been paid and the item received.

Always a QR code that the seller can scan on pick up.

What if the buyer used a freight company to pick up, then opens an INAD? how is the item returned?
