I recently sold an item using the "Local Pickup" option. I had never used it before, but someone a town over asked if I'd be willing to do that. I changed the listing to include the "local pickup" option and they bought and paid for the item.
The buyer has been slow about responding and really dragging their feet. On Saturday they sent a message saying they were moving and asked if I could meet on Monday. That was perfect for me since I'm busy on the weekends anyway, so I said that would work. I messaged and told him anytime on Monday would be fine and the location where I could meet.
I didn't hear anything back until Monday morning and he said something had "come up" and he asked if we could meet Tuesday. I told him that I would only be able to meet between 8-11 AM on Tuesday morning. It is now 10:15 on Tuesday morning and I have yet to hear from them. I just sent a message saying that I could meet tomorrow (Wednesday), but after that my husband and I are going out of town and I won't be able to meet.
I'm tired of waiting for this buyer who is dragging their feet and I don't know if they are serious about picking it up. If I haven't heard back from them by late tomorrow morning (the day before we go out of town), can I cancel the sale? Do I have to wait until a certain date (does Ebay REQUIRE it) to try to arrange pickup? This has been such a pain that I doubt I'll do anymore local pickup sales.

eBay doesn't appear to have any published guidelines about how long you have to wait for the buyer to actually pick up the item. I would recommend cancelling with "Problem with Buyer's Address" (that will refund them) and simply move on.

If it has gone unpaid for 96 hours from the time of the sale, you can cancel, using the reason that the buyer did not pay.

He said it's been paid for.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Thank you!

I meant to select your response as best answer instead of accidentally selecting my own. Oops! Thanks again.
