Despite this being a newish account, I’ve been with eBay since 2007 as a seller and top rated. I don’t ever remember eBay taking up to 24 hours to post my listings. I used to be able to see them - in search - a few mins after I posted. Ok, fine, but it’s also affecting my auction posts - if I start a 7 day auction it really only becomes public on day 6 and if I post it for 10 days, it starts showing up on day 9. What gives?? Time is money and eBay does not value that.

Hey guys, @levelups welcome back!
There can be an indexing time that at the most can take up to 48 hours, but usually never does. Depending on the item, like @dogchow747 mentioned, some take longer than others.
Also @downunder-61 is correct, every time you make a change or click edit it will reset that clock. If it's not live for more than 48 hours please reach out to CS, thanks!

I am not sure, I see 3 listings with a Animal Crossing game as the newest posted.
I am not sure of the exact reason for the delay, but this is not a new issue.
I agree time is money, but the last hours are the most money.
I think eBay is trying to balance keeping scam listings off the site, some new listings are reviewed.
Many sellers search for "items ending soonest" and bid near the end.
I am not trying to prop up eBay, I have my own issues with them,
But a few hours delay in posting a new auction is not going to shut you out of the loop.
Wish you best of luck.

We listed several items last night late and woke up to 3 of them selling by 8 am this morning.
Not experiencing what you are relative to listings - hang in there. It really does all even out, even with the ebbs and flows on this site and others. Good luck!

If you are editing or changing things on listings this starts the clock again - I have to say I hae never heard of a 7 day auction not going live until day 6

It is not day 6 going live. He listed it and it is taking 24 hours LEAVING 6 days for the auction. Don't worry OP, 6 days is plenty of time for an auction. Most buyers only look at auctions at the beginning of the list and auctions ending. Very few watchers in between anyway.

Well, look on the bright side - according to the TOS, under certain circumstances, you listing may not be seen on search (unless they changed it again).

This isn’t true: I listed the exact same item as a friend did at the same time and his is live with bids and mine hasn’t even showed up and it’s been 6 hours. So if it’s not the item that takes long what is it?

It is true. Some go live immediately, some take 6 hours, some take 24 hours and in extreme cases some can take up to 48 hours. You cannot compare your results with your friend's results.

Well, it is going to shut you out of the loop OR completely if your item doesn’t index in 24 hours time for a 1 day auction. IMO eBay needs to change the wording in the email they send you that cites “Your Listing Is Live” before it’s been indexed.
