Listing not showing up in search

My listing is live and shows up under my active listings.  However, when I do a search it doesn't show up.  It does show other member views but I suspect there could be more.  Any idea why this is happening?

I see one item you have listed.

It appears when searching for that model of knife.

If you do not see it, how are you searching?

Which search? There are six.

How many items are listed in that category?

You used five Item Specifics and seven  pictures. Can you find more?

How big is the knife?

Did you Search with your own ID? Or did you use an anonymous search?

Personally if I were programming an algorithm I would exclude (or downgrade) the seller's own listings, since the seller is not going to buy his own stuff?

The more you have listed the more likely the customer is to spend time looking at your stuff.

And the more sales you have the more sales you will have. (Pretty sure there is a parable about that, but I can't remember chapter and verse. )

Sorry, I should have been more specific.  I was actually asking on behalf of my son's account.  But for some weird reason when I searched for it now it popped up!  But originally, I did search for the item and used a generic -(xx) and it would pop up.  So it seems all good now but weird why this would happen.

What item and how are you searching, exactly? Is the item listed in the correct category for the keywords you are using?

I just use the search function at the top of the page.  Shouldn't it search everything that's listed on Ebay?

What you see depends on your keywords, category, filters and sort order.

If you search using certain keywords, you may only see results in one category. If the item is in a different category, it will not be found.

If you use a filter option, and the seller has not included the proper item-specific that corresponds to that filter option, that seller's item will not appear.

If you search using the "Price plus shipping: lowest first" sort order, the results may be filtered, often drastically so, unless you use a link the "see more results" at the top of the search.

Those are just a few of the things that can affect what items appear when searching.

It takes up to 24 hours for everyone to be able to see your listings.  The site has to re-index before new listings are visible to all.
