I had a listing removed incorrectly for price gouging. Is there any way to contact Ebay to get this reversed? A phone number, email? The message they sent me gave me NOTHING. I don't want the listing restored, just the violation removed from my account.
Thanks!
Some details:
I was selling some isopropyl alcohol (bad timing I know). This is not the 75% grocery store stuff. This is lab grade, high purity stuff for labs that goes through a bunch of QA/QC and certification steps. And was mentioned in the listing.
My listing had a starting bid ~80% less than standard, every day, non-panic prices.
I'm guessing some random "person" reported the listing assuming the price was just me trying to gouge people or or perhaps an ebay bot saw the price and didn't like it.
I wouldn't normally worry much but the message from ebay said that I would have my account suspended for 3 days and any fees not refunded if it happened again. I don't want that hanging over my head if some random person gets it into their skull that my price is 'too much'. Especially if it's a bot since there is a big chance that it just wouldn't understand the item is different.
I also love the second sentence in their message: "Offering items at a price higher than is considered fair or reasonable is not allowed on eBay."
You know, a thing that happens every day, all the time and is also completely subjective since they don't give any actual numbers (laws vary by state).

I created a listing with masks of class ffp2.
At a price below the market two three times at a price of $ 6.
My lot was removed for an increase in price, which is interesting competitors sell such masks at a price of 15 to 50 dollars for ebay nobody removes their lots.
It seems to me that by such actions they lead to the fact that prices for such goods are overstated.
Have you ever contacted somewhere on this issue?
Since the support service can not help.
In my country, the problem of coronavirus is not so urgent and export to other countries is allowed from us.
We ourselves are manufacturers of ffp2 masks of the same model and can give a low price on ebay.
Maybe there is still some kind of community where you can turn to the support where they answer?
In case you missed the announcement I'll give it to you below.
Ebay BANNED these items on March 5th. So pricing really doesn't have much to do with it. Ebay has BANNED the items and you are not suppose to list them at any price.

eBay still has a ban on those types of masks
eBay has stated:
"we are proactively selecting a limited number of sellers to provide certain types of inventory and there is not currently an application process for becoming approved to sell these items."
As of May 1st Only cloth face masks may be listed by eBay sellers and those only by following specific criteria:

Sadly eBay says they are stopping gouging and in reality they allow it as well. Most of their authorized sellers are actually way higher in price then they should be. Our company deals in masks and can provide them at a much lower cost then those on eBay by $20 and we were turned down to list our products saying that they are not allowing price gouging. Not quite sure how that is the case when they allow it by their authorized sellers for many products to inflate prices. While many of the costs for items like sanitizer, masks and others are up the reality is they are not as high as the prices we are seeing them allow.

The same thing just happened to me and I'm wondering if this was rectified for you. I was not gouging, but if you call starting an auction at 99 cents gouging then maybe there's something wrong with the policy.

Your was removed because the item you were trying to sell was BANNED by Ebay on March 5th. It has nothing to do with anything other than Ebay Banned it. If you try to post a similar listing again, the same thing will happen. Sanitizers are just not allowed right now. You can go to the announcement board and read the specific message to verify this if you'd like.

Thank you for your response. I wasn't sure about that and that's why I checked other listings prior to listing mine. I saw several similar items up for auction too, many of which were sold at prices much higher. I wonder why these sellers were able to sell theirs. These are just items we had that are not going to be used due to the strong scent.
You should always be aware of the rules. If you don't subscribe to the announcement board you should. If you don't know how, just ask. Not knowing isn't a defense. Going by what others do isn't a defense. You know that. The email you got told you not to list it again and I would follow that advice so you don't damage the health of you selling account.

So you're mad at the price gougers for doing the exact thing you're doing with the toilet paper.

It would be great if you could point me in the direction of subscribing to the announcement board. I would really appreciate that. I apologize if you thought I was trying to defend myself. That's not how I was trying to come across. I just saw your post about being incorrectly removed for price gouging and assumed you would be able to assist, which I believe you've done. I have been in contact with eBay customer service, and they were of great help.

It is likely that the other member complaining that their listing was incorrectly removed was mistaken as well. Ebay has never been known for well wording their communications with members and this really is no difference. Often times these listing removals aren't being removed be they are literally Price Gouging, but because they violate the ban Ebay placed on the site for these products in an effort to reduce price gouging offenses. If Ebay removed the listing, it violated the ban or price gouging or one or the other.
