Listing disappearing while trying to end/sell similar

Hi,

I regularly select "Listings Ending Today" and end them to refresh the listing using sell similar. Today, I had 6 listings that were ending. I marked all six and manually ended them. When I go to Ended Listings to start refresh/sell similar, two of the listings have disappeared. They are not in active listings anymore. They are not in Drafts, they are not in Ended or Unsold Listings. Knowing eBays servers, I waited more than 30 minutes, and the listings are still no where to be found. I'm suspect of my total listing number now, and will have to sit down and do a physical inventory on 391 active listings that represent about 1,500 sewing pattern packages.

What gives eBay?

Listing disappearing while trying to end/sell similar

Now here's the really odd part. Once I posted this, I returned to my living room where I still had on my laptop the ended listing page that had all 6 listings on it. Without refreshing the page, I selected the two that hadn't shown up on my office computer as Sell Similar. When they came up I saved them as drafts. They are currently in drafts waiting for me to refresh and relist.

Both my computers have eBay open almost all day long. Same router, same gateway etc etc. Any clue?

I see them on this page...

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_ssn=argentphil&LH_Complete=1

The multiple item listings that were ended show the sale date on that page rather than the ended date but if you open each listing it does show that it was ended today.   Some of them show as having been out of stock so you must have the out of stock function active so that oos do not end automatically.

I didn't look at the search or listings, but based on this comment alone my guess is @argentphil 's mystery comes down to the filter on the ended listings page. It defaults to "unsold and not relisted" but if items are OOS they won't appear in that filter. At the top of the page you have to change the filter to either "all statuses" or "sold" to pull in OOS listings.

If there's no stock then you're not going to relist unless you got new stock, so make sure you actually have the items sitting in your drafts before publishing!

OK, thanks for that! Since I was using two different computers it probably was the filters. I'll have to watch out for that.

But just to clarify, if I have 6 listings ending that day, but two are sold out, I do not need to relist them until I have replenished stock? And the system will not automatically relist if they are OOS?

Thanks you! I no longer feel the need to do a physical inventory.

If you have the OOS in sellers preferences enabled all fixed price  listings will automatically relist each month whether or not you have stock.  The oos listings will be active listings in sellers hub but buyers will not see those listings until you add stock,

And the system will not automatically relist if they are OOS?

They will automatically relist  as they stay active until you end them.  You will still use one of your free listings but when you add more stock, the sales history will still be there.   But, if you end the listings like you did today, you to have to relist them.  They only stay active until you end them.  The oos option only works if a listing hasn’t been ended and if you have enabled it.    I hope that makes sense?

Do you have business policies?  This will seem odd, but, if you have business policies activated, those "missing" listings will be defaulted to a new business policy.  But, here's the odd part:  you won't see them located in that policy.  What I mean  is you won't be able to select the listings.

Instead, make a change (edit) to the Ebay generated policy and it will produce a report...download the report and the item numbers that were "lost" are located there.  Next, you just use the item number to locate the ended listing and sell similar from there.  Here is an example of how to look up with an item number....there's probably another way but this is what I do.

example item number: 325791919686

It appears you may have already solved your issue, but, just for future reference, remember what I posted.  It can save you in a jam when Ebay "loses" the listings.

Here's another thing you can do:  when you're ready to end and sell similar, instead, sell similar from the active listings, and save as drafts, and then end the listings.  I use this method now because Ebay has "lost" 200 listings when I went to end listings.  So now I basically back up the listings before I end, because I don't completely trust the Ebay system.  Once burned, twice shy.

Thank you for your help, this has been very helpful to me! Saving them as drafts before ending makes perfect sense and would be an easier work flow to accomplish.

Thanks again
