I'm curious, it seems eBay has the system set so we must post daily to get a bump in sales. If I don't post daily my sales suffer. Can anyone provide an explanation, please? Thanks ...

It does however, make me a slave to the machine!
As I understand it, the Cassini logarithm shows newly listed and about to close items a little higher in Search.
But there are a lot of other criteria.
Also there are those byers who ignore Best Match for Newly Listed and for About to Close, which would also affect views if not sales.
And remember that Auctions get most of their bids in the last few moments of the listing. Another criterion.
However, those 'new' listings don't have to actually be new.
Some sellers list for 30 days, give their Unsolds a rest, then relist as Sell Similar for the same boost.
Some use Good Til Cancelled, which also seems to consider the re-lists as 'new' though perhaps less happily than never before listed.
And both Sell Similar and Relisted unsolds can be uploaded en masse, with little effort.

You're right, and that has frequently been posted. Apparently the system likes action, be it listing or sales, and it rewards such appropriately. I imagine the thought behind that would be that action is good and may lead toward increased sales~more listings, more things for people to consider to buy, more visibility, increased sales.
Just some thoughts.

It is horsemanure. You list 5 items a day in order to get 1 sale,,,,eventually you have 4000 items listed at 35 cents a pop and no sales if yOu ever stop listing ......ebay used to not be this way, but yes if you stop listing you will get next to Zero sales. Ebay is a horrible place to invest ina business unless you are a member in good standing with the Communist Party of China

No! What you are seeing is the reaction of people seeing your new listings and it draws attention to your other already listed items. If you don't list anything new than you loose out on the buyers that brouse the NEWLY LISTED items.

No, it is not true. Do not believe conspiracy theories or ridiculous conventional wisdom that you read somewhere.
For best sales, I would urge you to read up on mobile optimization, and to eliminate all disclaimers and feedback stuff.
