I called and they indicated a trademark violation. They said since I used a stock photo, they could not tell if the pair of nike sandals were real... I asked what policy did I violate, they were new sandals and the picture policy only restricts stock photos for used or damaged items.
The crazy thing is same sandals were listed for the last month, I sold out got more in and relisted now it is fine... They restricted my account, as the same thing happen to a pair of socks... (addidas socks) Again since it was a stock photo....
I was told they could not even look at the case as once you are restricted no appeals, it is what it is... Is this true???

You cannot use stock photos unless you are an authorized reseller of that product and have permission to use them.

The violation was they said it may be counterfit, so to make sure it wasn't fake, I should take additional pictures of the item. The issue of the stock picture was not in question, as ebay also provides many stock pictures along with my distributor.
I think they just target new sellers, as they also said until you have a longer history of selling on ebay, you will need to use multiple pictures..

Then I would say add your own pictures. Show the sandals and box if they have one and tags if they have tags.
Was VERO mentioned anywhere in the email? If yes, then don't relist until you sort it out

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

I agree I can take pictures with the tag / box. But I am unsure why they restrict your account and say you are in violation of the following policy, when you are 100% not.. and they say it is because you have "- Limited selling history"

But if they put in the UPC number, won't ebay populate the gallery photo with their "catalog" photo?

I think they just target new sellers
I imagine they do on brand name stuff..........just because some sellers either deliberately or unknowingly list knock offs.........

If you didn't get a VERO notice it sounds like more you're being targeted by a competitor.

Are you also referring to "listing limits" for new sellers?
They can and do restrict new sellers to a certain $$ amount monthly and also can restrict in certain categories until you have a proven track record.

I'd say they have hit their listing limit also, about $1k so far this Month. OP must have gotten hold of some crack CSR and misread any communication ebay has sent.

If you need to prove authenticity (as well as possession of the item), you need to do the work and show your OWN pictures of the actual items as well as all parts of the items that are necessary for buyers and authenticators to be able to determine that they're the real deal.
