It is my understanding that everyone is suppose to make their own listing title, Yet because I went through the work of doing the Item Specifics, ebay let's countless sellers use my Info. Which I do not care for, but it is what it is, But these sellers are using my Title as well, & That should not be Permitted!, & The Kicker is Most of these listings get put ahead of mine!, I do all the work, They come in & Go Oh that looks good, Click & Done!, & I get dumped on, What is my Incentive anymore??

E-Bay is building their "catalog". Especially in certain categories (media comes to mind) they would like listings to be more uniform. You are correct - but certain item specifics relative to condition, year of issue, etc are relative to only your item(s).
Even on "sell similar" there are item specifics that do not carry forward that the new seller is supposed to complete.
Focus on your listings ....people who do short-cuts often create issues for themselves anyway. And everything is fair game....we can all see each other's work product.

Out of curiosity can you please be more specific on what you wrote in a title that stands out as stolen? What is specific and individual to your title?

I am assuming referring to sell similar.

Your understanding is kinda wrong.
Ebay has an option to sell similar so other sellers may as well just sell same item as yours and just add their own pictures without changing anything.

I've had sellers use my title, pics and listing write-up, word for word. I went to edit it and could not figure out why it wouldn't let me. LOL

You can be proud that others are impressed with your titles.
Wait until you do a search, and see your "photos" with someone else's listings.
Really weird when that happens. I have some very unique photos, and recently someone has started using them in their listings. Strange stuff when I do a "search" to see how my item is doing at being on the 1st page, and there is what looks like my listing, but the price is wrong, and it has "free shipping".
eBay allows it. I have no copyright on my photos. Once I put them up they are fair game. I believe that goes the same with titles.

Hah! I was thinking, "Great minds think alike"... but I think you nailed it, because "Less is more". 😂

Could search placement be affected by using the unneeded repetitive tildes in the titles.
Are the copycats using the tildes?

Plagiarism used to be a violation of eBay policy. Not anymore, for quite a while.

You Hit on A Lot of My points, Everyone should do their own work, I deal with mostly collectible Items & Their condition is most likely not the same, It's Very frustrating!

So you believe that your listing titles are copyrighted?
