Is there a reason ebay no longer gives out listing promos anymore? I havent gotten a extra promo for free or discounted listings in months? Have they done away with it?

No they haven't. I just got one a few days ago for 100 free fixed or auction. They randomly chose sellers for the promos now. They are far and few between but they still offer them on a random bases.

I went two months without receiving any free listings promos.
All of a sudden, been receiving them on a regular basis. Ebay
gives them out randomly. Some sellers will get them and others will not get any for awhile.

The main reason most likely is that they don't need more listings. It's now more a case of stimulating specific sellers to list something/anything rather than listing nothing.
I get them occasionally on my secondary selling id's, have had only one on my main id in the past 6 months.
The days of mass listing promos are OVER!

I recall them saying that after one seller update.

I haven't received a free listing promo in at least 6 months. I already pay roughly 18% of my sale in fees to eBay/PayPal. I absolutely refuse to pay $0.30 for a listing too. I am not looking for 5,000 "free" listings, just 100 every once and a while.
I agree that when ebay hand out absurd amounts of free listing some sellers list **bleep** that will never sell.
I would much rather pay for each listing insertion and have a much lower finial value fee. (With no fvf on shipping if you use calculated shipping through eBay) I think this would make people think twice before listing **bleep** they picked up from a pile of tag sale leftovers that didn't sell.

.
I'm confused. How do you figure that? Are you saying you pay more than 10% fvf to eBay and 2.9% (.30) to paypal?
As far as promos -- I haven't gotten one in a year.

I closed both my stores in the spring and have regularly gotten listing promos for 50-100 items once or twice a month since then. I just re-opened my stores so I doubt that any promos will be forthcoming except maybe one closer to the holidays.
Promotions have not been totally random in 2017 - they are more targeted to certain types of sellers. You are far more likely to get them without a store than with one, but they will be small ones so that you won't get as many freebies as you would get with a store subscription. From a business standpoint that makes sense.

10% in final value fee
10% on the shipping cost (this is the one that **bleep** me off the most)
2.9% + $0.30 in paypal fees ( I actually this this is pretty reasonable)
I ship primarily 1st class mail and oddly shaped priority packages so unfortunately I can't take advantage of the free shipping supplies from the post office. I spend roughly $1.80 between the the box, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, the labels and ink to print the label.
I realize ebay had to do something about people avoiding fvfs. Sellers would list an item $0.99 and $100 for shipping. They would only be charged a fvf on the $0.99.
I am on the east coast, if I ship a 5lb package to California it is going to cost around $25. (I use calculated shipping in all my auctions over 16oz) Why should I have to pay ebay an additional $2.50 when I ship though their system and they can clearly see I paid the $25 I charged the buyer.
I don't fault sellers who choose to pay for listings after their first 50, I just choose not to.

I've been a seller from day one. I sell fridge magnets so I am kind of a mom/pop seller. I was getting those promotions almost on a steady basis. In 2015 and part of 2016 almost every other month. The promotional offers for 500-1000, sometimes 5000 for 5 days, free insertion fees. I was making a lot of sales. Averaged about $500 to $700. And of course ebay got $ from it too. All of a sudden I am not getting any. And ebay used to give us 200 every month, remember? Then they cut it down to 40, went up again to 50 a month, then 100.... I am so tired of ebay...

Ebay has just gotten More Greedy with each passing year! It is very discouraging.

We always felt like sellers should only be REWARDED with free listings. Why give listings to a seller you don't even know much about? That sounds like a good way to sabotage your reputation. Maybe one day....not really counting on it. Spiral continues.

Just because they didn't sell locally doesn't mean that they won't sell nationally.
I've scooped up many things where people didn't look or understand the amount of money in the box lot.
I just did that this past weekend - 2 Marx set boxes full of toy soldiers, tin buildings, and accessories from playsets - including the 2 set boxes. Pieced out I will do fantastic and even get more for one empty set box than I paid for the whole lot.
