Why doesn't ebay offer a free listing for every dollar you spend here? I am a buyer and seller and thinking about stopping both. Any ideas? Thanks

That might be hard to track. They do offer 50 free listings per month and often have promotions of "200 Free Listings" or similar.

Hi, eBay probably wouldn't go for your suggestion because they are a for-profit enterprise, and as such, they don't give away the bankroll. However, they do offer promotions fairly regularly. I recently received one for 50% off my Final Value fees. And like the other poster said, each non-store seller gets 50 free insertions a month, plus whatever other incentives come down the pike. Though not everyone is eligible for the different promotions, so it is best not to rely on them. If it is worth listing, I'm pretty sure eBay feels it is worth paying them for it.

Perhaps because no-one at eBay thought of that one very specific promotion. Or perhaps because they thought of it and chose not to do it. Or perhaps because they know that many buyers are not sellers, and vice-versa.
It is an intriguing idea though. If a seller spends XXX dollars a month here, he gets YYY free insertion the next month.
But only eBay really knows whether that would stimulate more buying, or just reduce their revenue.

I don't believe you really have free listings. This only works if you sell very fast. When I listed my items it says free each time but I ended up paying for the same listing. It's just hidden.
Plus I want to sell out of eBay. Do you know where else we can sell?

They do give ebay bucks on purchases........while not for free listings, that should stimulate sales to some extent...........
