In a listing, I fill in all the information I need to list. When I get to the very end, I click on "List" ,and 2 errors come up. The computer tells me: "It looks like there"s a problem with the listing. #1 ITEM DESCRIPTION. The length of the description has exceeded the maximum limit and #2 ITEM DESCRIPTION. Your listing cannot contain javascript (cookies, replace, Iframe, base hret". I don"t know what to do. Please Help

Hi, 1) sounds like you will need to shorten the information included in your description field.
While i understand you feel you need all the info, eBay has limits on the amount of space available. Try adding some of this info into your Item Specifics. Also, omit any seller terms unless specifically required by eBay. Most terms have their own field in the listing form, like handling time, return policy and shipping info.
And 2) that sounds like you need to remove any data that contains links or scrolling features or any other “active content”. (That is not my area of expertise, but others will come along with more advice.)

#1-- If the listing is too long, review it and remove the unnecessary stuff.
#2-- You can look at the coding in your listing by clicking on the HTML tab beside the Standard tab on the Description box on the Sell Your Item form.
Although you have been on eBay for a long time, you should be aware that your customer Payments are going to be held for up to 21 days against customer satisfaction. You can reduce this by using tracking and recording the tracking number in your Seller Hub.
It's not you, eBay does this to all new and occasional sellers.
You will also have restrictions on the number and/or value of your listings.
You can switch to the easier and more detailed Business/Advanced SYI form with the Customize link at the top right of the terrible simplified form.

Without being able to see any of your listings, it's difficult to tell your listing methods.

Hi,after clicking on the html tab click in the description then press control f and a small box will open at the top right of the page.Click in the box and type .com.Then in the description . com will be highlighted.Remove all of them by clicking on each one and deleting it.Then go up to the small box and type in .org and do the same thing deleting all of them.
Sounds complected but gets easier every time.Carmine

Have you joined managed payments, can't sell or list if not,
Try to list without item description and then go back and revise the listing to include it.

If you don't want to read the HTML to strip potential links (it's quite easy), or if it's just too long and frustrating, you can use an HTML/formatting stripper, too. But as I say, it's just a guess because we can't see what you're looking at.

Item description section has a character limit? I never knew this. What’s the limit? Because I’ve seen some reeeeaaaallly long listings before. I’m still scrolling down to reach the bottom of a listing I started viewing years ago.

The Item Description error is for javascript not length.
In both cases I suspect the OP cut and pasted from a web source and they unknowingly copied a pile of html.
When you cut and past from an online source it's best to paste it into Notepad and then copy from there (don't need to save the file), all html, scripts etc will be gone when you paste to eBay.
Or maybe it's something entirely different!

The javascript seems likely to me, as well.
I can recall a time, not all that long ago, when it mattered not whether you used the plain text or HTML editor, eBay added an "onbeforeunload" javascript to every listing - then screamed at us that javascript wasn't allowed.
