Lets go ebay with the 1099-k form!

Got all the forms I need to start my taxes, except ebay's. Get with it ebay!

You don't need to have a 1099-K to prepare or file a tax return.

OMG, patience.  They are not legally required to supply this form until January 31st.

There are many things you can do regarding your taxes before you have this form.  You have to reconcile it since it does not report gross income but gross receipts.  So you need to remove Ebay fees, shipping if done through ebay and refunds to buyers to get to your adjusted amount to be report.  Then you subtract all your other expenses to arrive at your net taxable income.

I'm unsure as to why so much concern over this form.  Ebay has issued them every year that they have been required to do it.  This year is not going to be an exception.

I've learned over the years that the Jan 31 date is taken literally by most companies. Even if they have them all ready to go on, say, Jan 20th, most will wait until Jan 31st to send any and all required tax forms. 

I honestly think some of them believe that they're not allowed to send them until Jan 31st, which is incorrect.

It has varied over the years.  Ebay does NOT always take the full month to issue the forms.  Just appears that this year that will be true.  But I remember getting them earlier in the month in some years.

     I am happy you got all your forms. I am still short 1099-INT forms from two banks, my 1099-R, my SSA-1099 and 1099's from PayPal and Venmo as well as eBay.

1099-INT still has a threshold of $10.00.  Bank interest rates are so low now --

More people are probably going to receive a 1099-K from eBay this year than in past years.  
Which, of course, is because of the threshold drop to $5,000 when it was $20,000 last year.

I got mine a couple weeks ago.

     May have to call SS after 1 February. The 1099-INT's I am waiting on are related to CD's which I acquired in July and have a decent return rate of just under 6%.

I'm all set, got my 1099INT 2 days ago, my accountant has all my paperwork, so just waiting on ebay. On my ebay's tax page shows the last 4 yrs, got anywhere from the 26th to the 31st.

 Not in a real hurry, I do quarterly payments and usually break even or get a couple bucks. Mainly out with the old and start with the new, plus sooner you get them in the less chance of scammer filing a claim with your name.

All income tax  forms 1099  need to be mail by January 31 -  IRS law
