Legit buyer or not

Good day everyone,

So I have a product listed and added the 'allow offers section'. the minimum I added was £100.00.  So someone sent me a message just saying £100.00?

I went into this person's account and saw he/she only had 1 feedback and that is in the last 6 months.  he/she only have 2 items on for sale.  I blocked this buyer straight away as that does not look right to me.  Was I wrong for doing that.  Shouldn't I get a notification of an offer where I then accept it, instead of a direct message from the buyer when the option is there for the to select the offer amount? I am very sceptic when I see things like that as I do not want to be scammed and then getting a bad feedback from eBay for this. and the product is listed for £120.00.

Regards

Marius

If you're that worried about getting scammed, maybe online selling isn't a good choice for you.

What didn't look right.

Not all buyers use the send offer option, they'll just send a message and ask.

No way to tell if a buyer is legit or not.

Have a great day.

Let me share his profile with you then you decide yourself.  I have been selling and havent had any issues.  but getting a message asking if I will accept 100.00 instead of just selecting the option made me think twice about this buyer.

Other then being a new member, I don't see anything wrong.

As far as the message, they might not know how to use the best offer option.

They see you accept offers and might think they have to send you a message with an offer.

If they wanted you to contact them outside of Ebay, that would be a problem and start of a scam.

Have a great day.

Ah ok. I guess that makes sense.  I never had this before so was a bit sceptic.  what worries me as well is he/she has 1 item for sale.  it only shows a black picture. the other is a headset saying it is used. but the images shows a new product from someone's website, not the actual headset.

Other then that, I think you could be right.  thank you for your honest opinion.

Have a great day.

As far as the photos, a lot of sellers use stock photos, even though they are not supposed to on used items.

I saw the one with just the black image.

Looks like its a listing for a board game pieces and they probably couldn't find just an image of the items in the listing and didn't provide much in the description.

Can't see your listings so can't tell if it's an item that might attract scammers or not.

Anytime you sell online, you have a 50/50 chance of the transaction going good or bad.

As a seller, you just have to decide if it's worth taking a chance of having a good sale or getting burned.

Have a great day.
