I have seen eBay listings where the buyer has to ship the item to the seller, the seller performs modifications, and then ships it back to the buyer. In my case, a buyer asked me to delay the shipment of an item by a week due to out of town.
The max handling time is 5 days, and it most definately could take over 5 days for the seller to receive and reship the item, and when I set my handling time to 2 days, I will definitely be over the 2 day handling time shipping it out in a week for my buyer.
Is there any way to ship this without the eBay late shipping penalty? Of course the seller could just not upload tracking information nor buy from the eBay shipping tool, but the USPS discount is nice, and users do like to see tracking number.

The maximum is 30 days not 5 days, if you do not see the 30 day option you may be using the Quick Listing Tool. Switch to the Advanced tool and 30 days will be an available option.

I tell my buyers that request later shipments due to vacations or whatever that i will print out the label, but will not take it until they request. That way the item is technically shipped in ebay's system.
