Late Shipping Ding

Hello all, longtime eBay Seller here since 2008.  I just sold an item that the Buyer has asked me to hold off mailing until years end, as they're moving.  I'm happy to do this to facilitate the Buyer.  However, I DON"T want to be dinged by eBay for a 'Late Shipment'.  Is there any way to note that this buyer ASKED for a later shipment?  I'm a Top Rated Seller and don't want to hurt my status due to a late shipment.

-Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Re: Late Shipping Ding

You will get a ding if you  don't ship on time.  Plus you have no clue as to where they are moving to. the shipping costs  might  be a lot more than you anticipated and you will be shipping to a different address.  Plus people  just might change their mine or just forget

Suggestions:

1.  Tell the  buyer to  cancel the or and wait unit they they move and get  settled (if you don't  sell it first.)

2.    Advise the buyer that eBay expects  their sellers to perform to the conditions as stated on listing and ship to the address state on the listing.

Your  call - but remember people  "will lie a little, cheat a little but be totally sincere about it."

@joawar

You WILL get a late shipping ding.

I typically reply to a buyer: "I'm sorry. I have a committed handling time with Ebay to ship items out. I will get penalized by Ebay if I don 't honor that commitment. I can cancel your order, or you can file a free mail hold with your local post office. They will hold your mail until you pick up."
