Did you mean:

Keywords

The new ebay stores no longer provide a link to access the search engine keywords as they did before.  Where do I find the keywords being used for my listings. Thanks

Re: Keywords

You do not have to do this area any longer.

eBay uses what is commonly called a word cloud or a tag cloud now, which picks up keywords and frequency of use and detemines importance.

Re: Keywords

Thx Good. But doesn't that also include that the RSS Feed is also no longer available?.

I communicated with @shipscript about these same issues on the Active Contents Board. She/He mentioned maybe a month or two ago that once all the Stores are converted over, Keywords would be I think they said handled by ebay and you would not have to insert your keywords related to your Store. BUT...

How do I find out just what eBay is considering Keywords, importance, and frequency of use? Not sure what that means.

And what about the RSS feed (they did tell me to flag an eBay Blue to address the RSS feed issue since that wasn't in their realm. I am not seeing my items on Google shopping which started not showing the beginning of this week, and barely seeing them in routine eBay search. Hope I am making some sense here lolol.

Re: Keywords

The RSS feeds I think are gone now just like the keyword tool in the stores.

You can try this to see if your store is showing in google

type in your store name followed by on ebay  -  abfabvintage on ebay

and see if you come up.  It should be right at the top for a direct search like this.

As far as google shopping this works a bit different than you might be aware of?

Ads on google shopping are submitted by eBay and eBay pays the fees associated with these ads on behalf of its sellers.  You and I are not charged any of the google shopping fees.

In order to be shown in these ads you have to meet the requirement set by google shopping which include pictures requirements and attributes (UPC, MPN, ISBN, Condition, etc) that are required as well.  If your listing do not meet these requirement google purges them out.

Now because eBay pays for these ads themselves it would be impossible to include every listing on eBay over (one billion active listings).  So eBay revolves listings in and out of google shopping all the time.  No listing is in there all the time.

I do not know the formula ebay uses but they probable hit a category very hard and the listings that get action might stay longer versus the ones that did not?  This is just speculation as I do not know how the decide these things.

So if you are not showing right now but were before , it just means eBay is using other sellers item right now and will get back to your items at some point.

Re: Keywords

@goodluckselling

Thanks again, Good, for your info.

No, I have always put in "abfabvintage on ebay" for years, then hit the Shopping Icon above. My items were always there, except maybe missing one or two. As of the end of last week, nothing.

And your assumption about eBay rotating...all the items are from like Bonanza, Reddit, Sellers not on eBay, and only one huge ebay block about I think gift cards or some eBay promotion in general and not seller specific. I didn;t bother to click on it. There are no ebay seller listings in the shopping search. None.

And when it did work, I would have one or two other eBay sellers of vintage items mixed in with mine only because they used the words "Absolutely Fab" skirt, shirt, or whatever in their description.

Something isn't right. Maybe it is the RSS no Feed? I need to get this figured out. But thanks.

Hey, Good. I just received a reply from brian at ebay copying shipscript. Bottom line, not ebay's problem, it is with Google and I am supposed to contact Google? lololol. So what you took your time to expand on here was technically fruitless and not correct. lolol. I am not crazy, if I was able to access end of last week, something between eBay and Google has occurred. But, knowing me, I WILL get to the bottom of it. Being passed around with conflicting info is just the norm here. Not faulting you.

I think their post is on the Active Content Board where shipscript lives. Am exhausted with this. Time to shut down.

I will remember the fruitless comment for future help efforts your way

To say I am incorrect from someone who thinks it could be a store RSS feed for google shopping, well now that is priceless.

Re: Keywords

Gosh, Good. I wasn't trying to be insulting. I really wasn't. You have always been helpful to me. After reading the Blue post on the Active Content Board and having read yours, evidently you know more about how it did/should work than eBay.

I truly apologize. I was angry getting a reply from eBay which was totally the opposite of what you researched/explained to me. What you outlined is exactly what I have done in all these years and to have it disappear and not work, along with all the other glitches, is very distressing.

I have always used that Google mechanism in the Shopping area to just see what the other world sees as it relates to my items listed on eBay. Now not even the other sellers that were co-mingled with mine (they were vintage clothing sellers), they don't even show.

And if you call me up on Google as you explained "abfabvintage on ebay" there is even more unrelated items. BUT that huge eBay button is there advertising Gift Cards.

I got a reply last night after I wrote back to the Blue. He said he searched for some kind of switch and it came up on google. So I wrote back to him this morning the problem is not with searching individual items, and walked him through what we both were talking about. Something has changed on the eBay end. And having done this with Google for years up until last week, there was never a rotation that I found happening. Thanks again.
