I just had an auction end and no bidders. I relisted it and have had a couple of offers in messages. The one that has me concerned is the following. They just joined ebay on the day my auction ended and started the new one so they have 0 feedback. Here is the message:
"With due respect i'm offering you $700.00 for the xxxxxx because i won't be able to wait until the auction end due to the nature of my work am always very busy to check my eBay inbox but you can text me #xxxxxxxxx saying offer accepted to ease up the transaction. Thanks"
I suspect it is a scam. But on the other hand I'm considering telling him to bid like everyone else. Then again I've considered blocking him but am concerned he may be a legit buyer.
I've also thought about calling ebay and discussing this.
What do you think about this? What should I do?
Thanx

"What do you think about this?"
100% Scam attempt & a very old & well known one at that.
Looks like they were too busy trying to steal from others & overlooked your first auction.
" What should I do?"
Ignore & block.
List the item as Buy it Now with Immediate Payment Required.
"I've also thought about calling ebay and discussing this. "
Waste of time.
CS wouldn't know the difference between a Scammer & a Hammer.

It ended with one bidder, what happened ?
If you relist the message "could" be a scam but may not. Some posters will repeat the same mantra that all messages from buyers are a scam no matter what. You could just tell the person no thanks and they are welcome to bid if it gets relisted.

Good catch about the first auction.
""With due respect i'm offering you $700.00 for the xxxxxx because i won't be able to wait until the auction end due to the nature of my work am always very busy to check my eBay inbox but you can text me #xxxxxxxxx saying offer accepted to ease up the transaction. Thanks"
That message is NOT from a legitimate bidder & the item is relisted.

Until the OP comes back and clarifies it's "possible" the person who messaged just went ahead and bid and won the auction.

I stated that there were no bidders on the first auction. I just relisted immediately and there are no bidders on the current auction
As cool said your first auction shows as SOLD with one bid on July 30...what happened with that sale.

I sure hope that the guy that won it on July 30th is not waiting for it to arrive.

Have you looked at your SOLD listings?
When I click on your SOLD listings it shows the same item you currently have listed as an auction as being SOLD with ONE bid on July 30 placed by d***l(2) at 6:59:58 PM PDT.

Your interested person will need to bid just like everyone else.....

We are only trying to help you & were concerned that something untoward happened with that auction.
Hopefully you opened & closed the UPI on that transaction.
Good luck with whatever you decide with your current listing.
