Whatever happened to the Mentor program?
Anyone being mentored or mentoring a new seller?

Ain't that the truth. Jam packed shelves make it very difficult to never break something. Then the thrifts instead of marking the stuff down 75% to get it moving, they cart it out to the dumpster and make nothing off of it. Where's the logic in that? I suppose the thought process may be we are never going to sell that cheaply so don't expect it, pay more or you don't get to buy those items ever. But talk about waste....carting perfectly functional usable glass to the dumpster and listening to it break as they throw it in. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and there's far too much of that out there.

Just curious if you do not sell here how do you know the ends and outs of selling and be able to give advice to sellers ? Maybe since you only buy here, the buyers board could be a place to help those people ?
Well Alan and the community boards would be in a world of WELL something if they thought this way.
I couldn't disagree more
Jen has always been a super great poster helping on all the boards Seller or not!
No one is going to post anyones names here
Jen & the others are 100% correct
there are many posters who answer that are not sellers.
They post it right in threads, not just this board but Knowledge base boards, Member to Member boards and all other discussion boards.
Many have at one time sold here & keep up with all the Seller updates, Announcements & Posts and it's easy for them to answer questions.
One doesn't need to be an active seller to answer questions here.
And many do venture off this one board and actually help & answer questions instead of posting to just this board !!!

You know full well I can’t name names. It appears we are talking about apples and oranges here. Advice from anyone is a good thing and meant to be helpful I’m sure. This is probably my fault as I was referring to helpers who are anti-seller, proclaim they are a buyer, and will hammer the board with rhetoric against the seller. If you have been reading the board recently you would have read it.
To further my point, I would never be so uncouth as to go to the Buyers Duscussion board and expound anti-buyer rhetoric over and over, let alone would I start such a thread on the buyers board.
So, any advice coming from such a person has no credibility with me any longer.
Sorry my post bothers you and perhaps is not the subject matter of this thread, but it is what it is, did happen, these are my personal feelings on the subject and anyone else can do or feel as they please.
Awesome post! 😉

So just because I have chosen to sell elsewhere, I shouldn’t help anyone here but buyers? Is that what you are suggesting there? Not going to happen. I’m here to help everyone. (Which is why I don’t just hang out on this board) I’m not here to make friends or earn helpfuls. I’m here because I like helping my fellow buyers and sellers.

The GW here said they don't even bother sending any "clear glass" to the Outlet any more. If it doesn't sell within a certain time, into the dumpster.
You know how much of the expensive stuff IS "clear glass"? Sheesh

That's a little different though to someone who has NEVER sold (anywhere) telling sellers what they're "doing wrong".

Well said Labs & thank you:)
yes many are former sellers who still buy here and they do keep up with the changes. Some have never sold too. Now I also have to agree with myjunque about those who haven’t sold telling sellers what they are doing wrong. I share the same opinion on that. But I do want to point out that on the other boards and especially the knowledge base, many of them don’t make it a habit to tell sellers how to run their business, they don’t always tell the seller what they are doing wrong. They’ll tell them how to best handle a INR or SNAD. And sometimes when the rest of us are short of patience & telling the OP how ridiculous they are being, the “buyers” are the ones being sympathetic and gentle in their replies (And none of them have an agenda either). It’s different than this board, that’s for sure.
Anyway I see both sides and agree with both.

My apologies for anything inappropriate to you and anyone else so offended.
I am not anti seller~I am anti scamming buyer and anti scamming sellers~as both drive users from the site, and take away sales from the good sellers. Many blame Ebay for this, when it may be these bad sellers who are responsible. It might help curtail this behavior if those involved are aware of it, and to see what buyers may go through.
As I have often said, not every buyer is a scammer; not every seller is a scammer. But the negative atmosphere and every buyer is a scammer philosophy lead me to post as I did. Sellers have it rough, but so do buyers.
Just as I regularly defend sellers to buyers (which you may or may not be aware of) who may not understand the system on the Buying Board, so they blame the sellers and call them scammers, sellers who don't buy here or don't buy much don't know what can happen, such as returning a SNAD only to have the seller claim it wasn't his item, when it absolutely was. Perspective for both sides.
Good and bad on both sides.
Again, my sincere apologies for anything inappropriate.
