I went to a disco in the 70's once, is it @pikabo-icu who has the mirror ball emoji? Anyway, I learned how to do The Bump 😀 This belongs on the first page. I had forgotten earlier & I guess this has been buried, thanks @my-cottage-books-and-antiques for the reminder!

I have. That's why I'm pulling and packing now so it can go to the PO tomorrow.

Oh, yeah... Our PO lobby is open until 1:00, after which the drop box can be used up to its last collection today at 5:45, and the outbound packages will thus be traveling throughout the long weekend.
After 5:45 on Saturday I just keep further shipments in my own possession until Tuesday morning. No point in having them squished under who-knows-what in the drop box for the remainder of the weekend (or, I learned through bitter experience, going to the PO on Sunday and finding the drop chute jammed with other packages, thus wasting a trip).

So, you probably have never heard of the Z-80 (with a WHOPPING 1K of memory) or the TI-99 (16K) ...how about the 8080, 8088, 286, 386. I have had all of these (still have the Z-80 and the TI-99).
D*MN I'm OLD...

Tramp!, Tramp!, Tramp! on a 1905 music box
https://youtu.be/f8wUmvJ1dTo?si=QuM6BhjkNYTNNyk2
Song by George Root, detailing the life of a Union prisoner in the Civil War.
In the prison cell I sit,
Thinking Mother dear of you,
And our bright and happy home so far away,
And the tears they fill my eyes
Spite of all that I can do
Though I try to cheer my comrades
and be gay.
Chorus:
Tramp! tramp! tramp!
The boys are marching
Cheer up comrades,
They will come.
And beneath the starry flag
We shall breathe the air again
Of the free land in our own beloved home
Seems appropriate even today if you change the A to a U:)

@pikabo-icu Thank you, I knew you'd deliver. Gotta say I like the disco ball better than that dancer that looks like a clown LOL. I was a kid when I went to the disco, they had opened it to underaged for a day. I don't remember much about the experience except I remember everything I wore LOL & that they taught us how to do the Bump 😀 I had black nail polish & layered silver sparkles atop it, which is nothing today & you'd have 100 different choices, but back in the mid 70s, it was quite the feat! I was never much into the music & a year later, I'd moved on to punk rock LOL.
Imagine teaching 12 yo's how to do the Bump these days, they'd shut down the club!

@simply-the-best-for-you Ahhh sounds like you had some fun times..
I was a little too young for disco, infant stage but I was along for the ride during the heavy metal era..
I'm starting to feel my age now.. I can see a few natural sparkles in my hair.. The silver kind..

@pikabo-icu No wonder we get along well, I'm a metalhead myself. I love the headbanger emoji! I tried all kinds of music & I like a variety, but metal is always my go to. Natural sparkles LOL, love it, I have some of those too 😉
