Can someone help out a computer illiterate ?
I just got a message from ebay that says 54 of my listings contain active content
that needs to be removed- Javascript.
I have no idea what that is or how to fix it.
Does anyone know what I need to do ?
Thanks in advance. Holly

There's no bulk tool that can do that as far as I know...
It's not yet released - maybe after the weekend we'll put up the beta version.
In the meantime, you can bulk scan your listings here to see which need addressing, if any...
http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentScanner.htm
And the EXAMINE button on that tool will take you here, where you can open the Markup screen at the bottom to see which codes have been highlighted for revision.
http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentSandbox.htm
You can then deal with the codes on your own or you can open the Filtered tab on the tool , click the button to revise your listing, and then copy/paste the HTML code from the Filtered tab into the HTML tab of eBay's description editor.
When released, the Bulk Editing tool that will automatically handle the work of the Scanner and Sandbox tools will generate a CSV file for File Exchange. So if you have hundreds of listings, File Exchange may be the way to update; but for a hundred or less, you have plenty of time to deal with those a few at time using the Sandbox tool to assist in your code removal.

@hollysfinds time to manually edit in html view and remove all that. (if u havent already)
i remember when i unsubscribed to those scrolling galleries a long time ago, and i still saw some of their stuff in html view.
i basically had to go listing by listing and view html view and then delete all their left over code.
on a good point: u have less litstings than i had when i had to do it 🙂

Thanks, that's what I've been doing.
One listing at a time. Thank goodness I'm a small seller.
I just hit the html button on the desciption area
when I do a listing like @marcfl29 said.
I looked for the start & end of the FrooGallery thing & just delete it all.
I'm so thankful for the help here.
I'm not a computer person & had no clue what to do.

@hollysfinds yeah i understand. been there and done that. those scrolling galleries annoy people anyways. what it does for the scrolling gallery company is data mine u.
just take that stuff off and be done with it. ... i took mine off way before i had too
i wish u the best.
btw my sales keep slowly increasing after i removed them. there are more parameters here that have bearings on sales than a scrolling gallery 🙂

I Unsubscribed to it back months ago when we first got the
word from ebay that they were going to remove active content.
That's why I was so surprised when I got the message saying
there was active content in my listings.
I thought at first that they had made a mistake.
But, lo & behold that code was still there
when I looked at the html even though the gallery was gone.

@hollysfinds hi look at the pic. and also this link
u have great stuff, but your most expensive shipping is just as slow as the cheapest out of the 3 choices.
this should never happen.
also on the link for your listing, you have less than 50 characters, but ebay allows u up to 80 characters. so my adivec is to use every character allowed to get your product found howver a potential buyer may search for your item.
🙂

@hollysfinds my past experience is that when u unsubscibe those things leave their code on your stuff but just dicontect on their end
most of those scrolling galleries use javascipt (i.e active content). so that is what is most likely setting off that warning.
u have till june to get it off. it suck, i know.... just do it and never again try those things. focus on your titles, MPN and a professional item decription and pictures, and u should be good.\
btw in response to u thought it was gone. vendio is the worst. i had to tell them "firmly" to remove it, and sure enough after "firmly" telling them, they ran their "tool" and wiped all their code.
this is a rairity but trust me they all leave their code. i know this from growing. after i grew a little, i learned how to "speak" to them on the phone to get things taken care of

It happens that way sometimes. But there is nothing wrong with offering choices, like the OP is.

Thank you @d-k_treasures, I always offer 3 choices on almost all of my listings.
It's up to the buyer to choose what they want.
@keithharrierenterprisesIt's what works for me, lol.

@hollysfinds i understand. i just will try on elast time, and then im done
your most expensive shipping is $2.61 more than the cheapest, but it arrives at the same time as the cheapest. in fact though if it crosses a saturday, the cheapest will arrive first.
i see this and buyers do too. im just trying to help. this throws a red flag to buyers, even though i belive u dont mean too. please think about it; im trying to help u

According to ebay's estimates, and specific to that listing.
Should the OP go into every single listing and check costs/delivery times for a zip code in every zone just to eliminate that possibility? I think not.

Please, Where do you Find the html tab on a listing?
