Item specifics

I was just reading an email form ebay mostly about labels (although it was nothing new to me since I already pay for labels through my payouts and at the end it said that ebay is working to simplify the process for sellers.  Gave me a good chuckle!  The new item specifics is making listing vintage one-off items a real time consumer.  Come February its my understanding that I'll have to add about 60 item specifics for each item I sell.  Since each item is unique I may be able to list one item every 2-3 days.  So many of the specifics now are repetitive.  I can only imagine what's to come.  How many different ways can I put down the width and height of a frame.  And if it's an antique frame designed for paintings and I list it under antiques it does not even come up in a search so I have to put it under collectible frames.  And then I have to say if its for 3d photos etc.  No, it's for a painting but they do not even list that.  Besides, buyers can do anything they want with a frame.  There must be a little room with some super geeks who sit around and come up  with this crazy stuff so that they  can keep their jobs relevant.  But if buyers leave the site because it is too difficult to sell, they won't have any jobs.  Ebay help!  Please!!  I've been selling for 18 years and each change just makes it more challenging to continue here.  Please listen to your sellers.  Not just your mass sellers but your little guys, the guys who got you started, remember?

Yep... just rolled out of the dorms with a blunt in their mouths, a 1.1 GPA and a major in underwater basket weaving. Quality and trained IT's are not a prerequisite it seems.  There is no loyalty where ebay is concerned.

ALL my items are brand spanking new, so why do I have to tell people that they are not antiques, over, and over, and over again? If I have to tell someone that a cross or crucifix is cross shaped I fear for the type of people that I will be working with. LOL some of the specs are just ridiculous and all of it is extremely time consuming to update!

I make and sell jewelry.  Apparently all my specifics state that I'm now selling diamonds as well.  These specifics are going to confuse so many potential buyers.  Many of the items are listed in the wrong categories as well.  I believe buyers will look elsewhere.  I'm waiting to get a "not as described" complaint from a buyer because of these mistakes made by the ebay team.  I'm sure I won't be the only one. Good luck.
