I've recently noticed the increasing number of longtime sellers leaving EBay and I am one that understands why.  I started selling on EBay over 25 years ago when there were no photos and all you could do as a seller was write a detailed description of the items in hopes someone would be interested.  Recently I listed a linear amplifier and immediately had numerous interested buyers.  I was in the middle of negotiating a Best Offer sale and the listing disappeared.  These amplifiers are illegal to use on citizens band (CB), per federal regulations, but they are legal to use on ham band.  I received a message from EBay stating that I had violated a policy regarding the use of a linear amplifier.  I contacted th EBay Help Desk and explained the wording in my item description.  I simply stated I had "purchased the linear with other CB and ham items from a gentleman in Kentucky".  At no point did I say anything about using the amplifier on citizens band.  The person at the Help Desk sent me a link so I could re-list the item.  They fully understood the situation.  After I rebuilt the entire listing and posted it all of a sudden it was removed again.  This happened three times....each time the Help Desk would send me a link that I could copy and paste and they even sent me links to my photos I had lost when the listing was removed.  I was told in a message that "You listed an amplifier in a way that implied the amplifier could be used with a CB radio".  Each time I contacted the Help Desk and was told that I could re-list the item and they even assisted me by providing links!!  I am an EBay Top Rated Seller with 100% positive feedback and I do not appreciated being treated as a criminal.

Never ever relist an item eBay removes.  It's all done by bots in most cases, as you found out (since they were removed nearly immediately after the first time), and you cannot convince the bots of anything.  The phone reps have a terrible reputation for telling you what you want to hear, but in this case you should have simply sold that somewhere else.  There's no benefit to trying to fight the system when you're on the bot's radar.

If Ebay knows and allows you to violate a law, Ebay is responsible.

Listings are removed if there is any chance that Ebay would lose its immunity.

You will not find any other marketplace which is more tolerant of word patterns which point to increased liability.

Unless you plan to have your own website, you will need to adjust to this increased level of scrutiny of your listings.

Ebay has a lot of revolving door sellers. Been in and out myself.

It does not matter what the helpdesk tells you. If you keep relisting that item, the bots will find it and eBay will suspend your entire account and delete all your listings.

The smart move is to sell it somewhere else.

Ebay CS is known to tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone as fast as possible. Offshore CS isn't always accurate in their advice and unless and until you get it in writing in your account that an item was removed in error, you should NEVER relist.

Having done it three times, you put your account seriously at risk!

If you try to keep listing this item, you will be suspended. Please stop doing this. eBay customer service just tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone and move on to the next person in line. If you want results, reach out to eBay business in Facebook.

Clearly ebay tells you that these items are NOT allowed.

You need to read the policy and not rely on customer  service.

 NOT allowed......

CB amplifiers and radio equipment that operates in both CB and HAM frequencies

I notice more sellers on eBay and competition is fierce.

I am not allowed to list Iran stamps as an example....but can list them as Middle East stamps. Will I take a chance? Nope. As well as North Korea , Syria and Cuba. Some sellers use Spanish stamps instead of Cuba stamps in their titles. I am talking about USA sellers and it is illegal to sell them if you are in the USA through eBay. My point is, I am not going to take a chance like these other sellers in the USA who do. These sellers are a little sneaky...they list them in auctions and not buy it now.
