Thanks all.
I sold an item on July 1 for $390. In the listing, I made it plain that it may be defective and that it wasn't tested
I stated in the listing that it was free shipping and free returns and I said "Take a chance, you have nothing to lose."
The person just got back to me and said it's defective and that they know it's out of the return window, but would I consider accepting a return.
Is there any good reason for me to consider this return? I'd feel like a jerk if I don't, but I know I'm well within my rights not to.
Thanks.

Sorry, after 30 days you are out of my system; money is long gone since once 30 days goes by, I have to assume it's mine (otherwise I would never be able to call it 'sold' and move on).

Thanks and that's a great point. They can't expect you to keep the money in an escrow account just in case.
Can I receive a bad review if I say no?

Took more than 30 days to figure out? If I spend $390 on an untested, possible defective item wit free return I’m definitely checking out immediately if it works or not, not gonna leave $390 sitting around for chance to intervene and make it work. Who knows, maybe he took parts of it to fix his, too many variables. But 30 days is 30 days. Maybe offer < half refund after return if you feel inclined to do so.

Thats a tough one. I probably wouldn't respond and would hope for the best.
I feel like you did a good thing and offered a free return. It's on the buyer for missing the window.

They can leave bad feedback up to 60 days.
You may likely have grounds for removal as they are asking for something technically not offered in the listing.
Again, I wouldn't respond. Hopefully procrastination in checking if it works extends to leaving feedback.
