Issue with Return Label - Incorrect Ship-To Address

Hello eBay Community,

I'm encountering an issue with a return request and was hoping someone could provide some assistance.

I sold an item, and the buyer requested a return. I accepted the return request through eBay and purchased a return shipping label for the buyer. However, during the process of generating the return label, I accidentally selected the incorrect "ship to" address. Instead of the item being shipped back to my current address, the label is set to go to a different address.

I've checked the return details on eBay, but I don't see an option to cancel the existing return label or create a new one directly from the return request page.

I have tried to generate a new label through the "shipping labels" section in my eBay account, but when I attempt to create a label for this specific return, I receive the following error message:
"Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label."

Could anyone please advise on how I can obtain a new shipping label through eBay for this return, ensuring the item is shipped back to my correct address?

You need to contact Ebay ASAP.  

 

 

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

Hi @ysus6110 . It's not possible to change the eBay generated return label at this stage.

 

First, create a new return label offsite - I recommend pirateship.com - and send it to the buyer letting them know the eBay label has the wrong address.

 

Second, update your return address on this page - https://accountsettings.ebay.com/uas/addresses

 

Third, you may want to contact eBay customer service to see if they can add the new tracking number to the return.
