Hi all. I've added a new listing after intrest from FB marketplace as i thought out would be easier to post and a safer transaction. Ive put the listing as an auction for 10 days. The interested person on fb marketplace has made a high offer through eBay very quickly. Should I accept this. There are notess on the offer screen saying it will charge the buyer straigh away. The buyer looks to only have 1 review and opened their account a few days ago. Hmm?? Many thanks in advance

What item are you trying to sell?

If someone on FB wanted to buy from you on FB then you should have just sold it there, in person, for cash. Why would you then put it on a venue that you will now have to ship it, pay selling fees, and get no protections as a seller?
Make this make sense.

They reside in the UK

As far as I know I have listed them?

So the item would have needed shipping and they are not local. I thought I would be more protected on ebay

Yes. Why did this matter please

You're on the US boards. We can't see your listing since it doesn't ship to US.
I'm not sure you're any more protected here then through PayPal. But unless they're some expensive super limited edition and popular items, I think toys have a pretty low fraud rate.

Well, then @buyer0795 needs to post on the UK boards, since these are the USA boards

@jerseyboymusic
Well then, maybe eBay needs to "put up a wall" so UK members can't post here. Instead, the link to the .com community is the first in the list when a UK member looks for a link to the community discussions.
I visit the UK boards on occasion to observe and ask questions. Never have I ever encountered the "this is the UK, go home" attitude that is sometimes displayed to visitors here.

You can see the listing if you go to eBay.co.uk:

What kind of protection do you imagine eBay would provide for you?
You're on ebay.com, which is the US site. Sometimes the eBay policies and procedures for the US are not the same as for the UK. You'll get better replies if you go to
