Is this a Listing with Variations?

I found this listing and wanted to know if 1) its a listing with Variations and 2) does the listing count as one Listing or does it use the total number of items being sold and count each one as a separate Listing?

Yes, that's a variation listing.  And even though all the items are 'individual' or differentish, it does only count as 1 listing.

You do, however, get charged the individual fvf for each sale.

It should also be noted that this is NOT a proper use of a Variation listing.  The items all being a plane model is not enough of a reason to run them all in one listing.

If it was a listing for one type of plane model, but that model came in different colors or sizes.  Then that would be a proper use of a variation listing.  But not the example you have shown us.

It's a closer "better use" of a variation listing than what a lot of off shore sellers come up with.

"If it sold FAST, it was priced too low" - also Reese Palley

It counts at one listing for your monthly listing limit.

Each individual item counts against your monthly selling limit.

Ex.

You have a basic store - 250 Free FP listings - this is your first listing of the Month

You have a 500/$5000 selling limit

You list a variation listing with 5 variations of 5 each with a price of $10 (25/$250)

When you post the listing your limits will be

249 Free listings

475/$4750.00 selling limit

And I agree that while not technically the correct use of variations, it is definitely in the correct spirit LOL ... Much better than $500 Xboxes with one $50 controller variation.

That still doesn't make it a valid use of the variation listing.  I have seen plenty of US sellers misuse the variation listings in all kinds of categories.  It certainly isn't just "off shore sellers".  There are plenty of US sellers doing it too.
