Does anyone else have problems messaging sellers or buyers? If I try it starts typing backwards?? Never had a problem before. Thanks!

Hi, Gracie. When you mention they changed to https, was that for these forum boards? I have been showing https for these Forums, but it doesn't have the usual green secure. When you click on the alert circle it says, not completely secure and open to attacks. I use Chrome. Any help would be appreciated.

Not too sure I can be much help.  I got home the other morning and tried to logon, but kept getting the 'main' screen, when I would hit the 'sign-in'.  I had the bookmark with the 'http'.  I played around for a bit, which included shutting down and coming back in again - the long way/without bookmark.  That's when I noticed the 'https'.  However, I only get the 'This website does not supply identity information' next to the address.

The reason I'm not much help on this , well, is because I use XP and Firefox 27.0, so I don't have or use the latest 'bells and whistles'.  Then, again, who in their right mind would want to, or even think of trying to hack into someone that is this out-of-date?  Smiley Surprised  Smiley Very Happy

(of course, with this old a Firefox, I can still turn cookies on/off, real easy)

Thx Gracie. I am more than computer dyslexic. That's why since 2001 I use a 3rd party to list and not eBay tools as it is written in 8th grade level Anyway, I think I will post to shipscript who has always had an answer on possibility how to fix. But thank you. I didn't have those problems yesterday like everyone else, but the system did take a long time when on these Forums to load where I powered off, then back on thinking it was me. Again, thanks.

Oh, and as for you  having the https 'for a while', I think they have had both, but have finally gotten around to 'fixing things'.  (google can be a harsh task-master)  Smiley Wink  I still play with 'puters, but I'm a dinosaur - they left me behind some time ago.  I started in the 60s and have forgotten more than most have ever known.

Thats a new one I've never seen before . Or  should I say  '' before seen never I've '' ? When I was in my teens we used to try and play music records backwards in the hopes of hearing some hidden message . The devil was in the details so to speak   . I hope  this is just another  temporary gliche  and not a highjacking  by old slewfoot . lol  - tulips

Morning, Gracie. I received a response from shipscript on the Active Contents Board. Thought you may want to access her replies to me on there. Too much for me to copy/paste for you here. Again, thanks for your help!

Thank you for the thought and the heads-up. As I said, google has become a harsh task-master and, not always, is it a bad thing that someone takes hold of the reins to lead proceedures in a reasonable direction.  At least, they aren't as heavy handed as some folks, nor do they preceive to be the only game in town - just the biggest.

Re: Is there problems with the site?

eBay is a mess. I have items with 0 views and 4 watchers. Items with 0/0 that are supposed to be indexed, when I did a search they are not even on the engines. I keep changing my stores back to classic, they change it back to the new one while I am still on it.

Items are dead in the water. Just went in and tried to fix some of them, but how are you supposed to know what to try and fix when so much is a royal mess?

There is nothing going right with my eBay selling experience right now.

Worst of all- eBay does not care. Thank you eBay for your LOYALTY to your small sellers who brought you where you are today. I've been with you since the beginning, thanks for the text message divorce, which this pretty much feels like.

I am taking my items elsewhere now and will only use your free listings as 35c for a listing that is messed up by YOU is not a wise selling strategy. Let me know if you want me to start paying for an actual SERVICE, not paying for terrible service. I will wait for your free listings as I list on other platforms. You don't want my items anyway. The buyers do, when they actually find them. They are ecstatic. Write me all the time.

How do I know you are hiding me BIG TIME. Buyers are writing me wondering why they DIDN'T SEE the rare pin they have been waiting for until they saw it on the sold list. I have been told numerous times now that THEY NEVER SAW MY ITEM and they were looking.

Good job eBay, that's how to get loyal BUYERS!! Hide the OOAK items they came here to find. How is that giving your buyers a BETTER BUYING EXPERIENCE?

I know you will never tell us, I guess you want the collectibles buyers to go with their equally distasteful collectibles sellers. Are the collectibles and OOAK buyers not bringing you in enough money that they are also EXPENDABLE?? Because they are going to other sites as well, I know, I sell to them!!

eBay is beyond broken for some sellers and it is not going to be fixed. I believe they are making this crystal clear. GOODBYE OOAK sellers, goodbye collectible sellers, take a hike antique collectors, rare toy collectors, people looking for retro items, replacement dishes, well made items, collectors and your collectible buyers, please get off our site and make some room for our new free cheap stuff. That's what we want to be. Your new Dollar Store.

eBay, the new .99c store!!

Thanks BTW, you aren't subtle at all, so stop telling us to resist our collectibles, lower the price of our OOAK, because you don't want us or OUR BUYERS here. Right?

Over and out. No one at eBay cares about our posts, it's just a venting session for us as they push for their 100% new items with free shipping and free returns copycat river site.

Re: Is there problems with the site?

The original problems, I think, stemmed from buyers using Ebay links that took them to other items.  Not the ones they were searching for.  Or old, expired, or sold listings.

More or less.

And, I'm sure it had nothing at all to do with the idea that ebay, perhaps, was gaming the system, too.  Smiley Wink
