I know that now, or even a month ago would be the best time to list things that people would be looking to give as Christmas gifts, and that there is a point where people will wait until Black Friday to see what they can find, but is there any logic to waiting until the last say 2-3 weeks to list something to catch those that feel they are almost out of time and have one last chance to get these things? But not too late that they fear that it won't make it on time.
Like is there frenzied competition in the last light before Christmas?
I don't have much experience as a seller, but I have found myself as the person in the scenario above, so I'm 50-50 on holding out or not.
Thanks for any advice on my probably idiotic question.
My best,

The only reason to hold things back is if you are a full time seller with a full store or you like a normal daily release schedule. If you just sell here and there then there is no reason to hold anything back.

That totally makes sense.
I guess the thing is most of these items I've been sitting on for far too long, and honestly I don't mind waiting if there would be a real reason to do so.
But I should probably just get these things out and off my mind.
Thanks for the advice!

I can't think of any logical reason

A couple things:
I use USPS exclusively. Holiday Shipping deadlines have been posted, with Ground Advantage (the most common method my buyers choose) being Dec 16th. And personally, I like a little extra breathing room. So, that's one thing to keep in mind.
Like onefootflippers said, there isn't much reason to hold off. In my case, I am thinking about holding off on some higher dollar items primarily so I can try to use social media/my store newsletter to highlight them in advance. Basically, like: "This (insert great item) will go live on ebay on (date). Don't miss it!"
But whether I'll actually get around to doing anything like that is another question LOL

If it isn't listed, it can't sell.........

Yeah, I knew you all would talk some sense into me.

That's really sound advice, and I don't have a particular reason like you to hold off.
Thanks very much for the input.

That's **bleep** true.
I'll start the listing.

Dang true then?

No. Yo7 mightbe able to get a sale now, because the person wants to guarantee they can get the item, or they need it earlier for their plans. You may also not have to offer it at a deeper black friday discount everyone expects.

I agree.
Thanks for talking sense into me!

I don't know why some wait until the last minute to start listing some items.
I'd rather get them out there before people start running out of money.
If it's anything like the last couple years, you need all the extra time you can get.

Agreed.
The sooner you list it the better.
