I do not ship outside the US and I have all my settings set to reflect this. I also have a disclaimer on all my auctions. Yesterday, I listed a high-end teacup & saucer set and today I have one bid and 11 watchers. When I checked the person who placed a bid their profile states they live in China. **bleep**?!?! I have my setting such that this should not have happened and I have to assume they're using a freight forwarding company address in the US to continue bidding on items whose sellers don't ship outside the US. Is there any way to remove this person's bid and block them? I couldn't find anything and this just chaps my hide because if their profile shows they live outside the US it shouldn't matter what shipping address they have on file with eBay, they should not be able to bid if sellers have things set to block buyers outside the US.

Cancel bid: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CancelBidShow
Block bidder: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin
The block is based on the member's primary shipping address, not on their country of registration. So buyers who use a forwarding service in the US aren't blocked.

The buyer may be physically located outside the US; however, if he uses a freight forwarder, you ARE shipping to an address inside the US and that block won't work.

"should not" doesnt matter.
eBay allows customers with FF in the US to buy as US buyers.
You will also get hit with a Foreign Transaction fee.
It should not be allowed but eBay does allow it and no matter what we think should or should not, we dont make the rules.
I have never had an issue with a buyer who uses a FF. Most are in states that dont have tax so it is a wash for FVF, even with the Foreign Transaction fee.
They always pay quickly and if there are many watchers they drive the price up.
I cant think of a reason not to sell to them.

The last thing I want is a delicate item worth over $300 being shipped out by a forwarding service because that means there are more chances for it to be damaged (they often open and repack things). I'm not going to spend extra money on Insta-Pak to protect the item if it's going to end up broken and I'll be forced to do a refund. Thanks for your response...I'll keep looking for the place to cancel the bid...I tried using that link for canceling a big and the page wouldn't load.

Sorry. Try this:

I've canceled their bid and blocked them. I will not deal with international buyers using freight forwarding companies.

Does that also apply to the MILLIONS of people who are temporarily in the US? Foreign workers, students, tourists etc.

Why not?

I'm not sure if it applies to bids, as opposed to sales, but beware that canceling a transaction for this reason can result in a strike on your account. It's not considered a valid reason to cancel a sale by Ebay. 1 or 2 probably won't cause you problems, but if there is a pattern, it may.
ETA: Only once out of many transactions, have I ever had an issue with a FF.

You want $ 41.55 shipping from Arizona to California? Isn't that a bit obscene?

I can actually understand 'fragile' and 'very expensive' in this context, given the possible handling issues of FF systems (or eBay's 'global shipping'). Anything else, I'm fine with.

To lessen the chance of this happening in the future, set your buyer requirements
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Block buyers whose primary shipping address is in a location I don't ship to.
It will not stop all that use a FF, but it will stop the one's who have their ''primary shipping address'' in the country they reside in

For a properly double boxed, fragile antique breakable item, not necessarily out of line. When I sell breakables, I charge more handling charge due to the extra time it takes to package & they may be building the insurance into that price as well.

Bid cancellations do not have any negative effect on a seller's account. Canceling a transaction on a Sold item is totally different than canceling a bid on an active auction.
