Is there a way to add questions to your listing (ie. what text would you like? whats your name? what color do you want?)

Why would you want to, out of curiosity?

You would have to have them enter that info in a "message to seller" when they pay for the item. 

That's the only way i can think of.

Sounds like you want to offer personalization on some items.  Maybe check out some clothes sellers to see if they offer custom verbiage on hats or shirts?  I know there are plenty of sellers offering color options in clothes.  Thankfully I don't sell enough clothes to consider this.  It sounds like a good job for drop down menus if it is possible.

Show a sample of the product with a name on it. If you use more than one type face, a shot of the different type faces, numbered, so they can pick the one they want. Once they place the order, they can message you when paying with that information. Suggest reading up on Money back and understand that the buyer can still return or ask for refund if they don't like it.

I sell some top end S/Steel Knife Block sets and offer an 'engraving service' at special times of the year - Xmas, Easter, Mothers Day etc and my buyers do as hawaii said and put the details in the check out.

Once I receive the order I messge the buyer with the 'text' for their confirmation and away we go.

Ebay added a personalization feature in the UK........but I don't think it's made it here yet.......would have been nice for the Xmas season.........  Wonder if it fell thru the cracks when Tempkin left?

@jimmycs_cards_and_memorabilia  eBay does have a personalization feature that will allow you to have a text box on the listing for buyers to enter that information when they check out.

However, I believe for US it may still only be available in the following categories:

• Home & Garden
• Clothing & Accessories
• Jewelry

If what you want to sell isn't in one of the categories that has this feature available, you'll just have to have something in the description telling the buyer to send you that info in a message.

Hi @dhbookds - just to clarify, are you suggesting that the Help Page titles are adjusted or that we add this Seller Center link as a quick reference in the 'Resources' section on Community? I have a lot more sway with one of those places than the other. 😉

tyler@ebay  I can't speak for @dhbookds  but I think the personalization tool is important enough to have it's own page in Seller Center, not just buried under item specifics. 

I know item specifics are part of it because that is the mechanism for enabling this feature, but especially right now with Q4 where personalized holiday gifts might be popular, I think it would be great to make it easier for sellers to find info about this tool.

Of course something here in the community wouldn't hurt either. 😊

lol, can't guess which one.  Both can't hurt.........but while trying to find it, I looked in help files under Personalization  tool......could find nothing.......tho there are many "seller tools" explained in there. 

I'm not sure what the criteria of "choice" is for what is in SC versus Help but I prefer to use (try to use) help.....as I would think that should have EVERYTHING.  Obviously, it doesn't.
