Is there a new way that our listings are displayed?

I just sold something.

I went to go look at the listing and it looks different.

The page defaults to item specifics and does not show the description at all. 

You have to click on  "description" to see the description.

Is this something new?

I don't like it.   As a matter of fact, I hate it.

I see nothing different...but alas, after August 7th I have had only repeat buyers and no new buyers. This could be my worst week....I think of it as a vacation...5 days with no new buyers is so strange...

Is an item "not as described" if eBay doesn't require the buyer to view the description before purchase?

I have seen that format sometimes in the past few weeks. eBay actually lets buyers add to cart/purchase without ever seeing the description.  Don't know if eBay is testing or under what circumstances eBay chooses this format.

Sorry, I’m not seeing what you’re describing. I see the listing as usual. Could be something new they’re testing.

All day today the item pages looked like they normally have looked, then suddenly tonight I start seeing a new format and I agree with you...I absolutely HATE it!  They must be trying it out on some users.   It is a HUGE mistake to not bring up the description on that initial page!!!  All they will see is the item specifics and they will need to click on a separate description tab to see any description you went through the effort to enter.  It's hard enough to get buyers to read the description and now they won't even see there is a description that may have critically important information unless they go through that extra step.  Get ready for INAD claims!!!

I am seeing the IS and the description. You are talking about on a PC, right? Not a phone?

Maybe provide a screen shot of what you are seeing?

And remember, ebay has been testing changes to the View Item page, so you may be seeing a test.

Yeah, please provide format in which you are viewing? Mobile app or Web Browser?

Mobile App has (for a long time at least) shown an abbreviated "Item Specifics" to click on and expand, as well as Description not shown whatsoever unless you click on it.

Honestly can't remember if the Mobile App has been like this for me the whole time (18 month Ebayer) or if that changed at some point.

@inhawaii  You're not alone.  I saw it the other day, also using Chrome.  I didn't look at it in detail, i just noticed that it is more similar to the new listing layout with the big pics & cleaned up look.  

BUT, mine is back to the normal view with description at the bottom + when I clicked on the link you provided, I also see teh description near the bottom.  

But I DID see what you're referring to quite recently, in the last few days.  I just didn't pay any attn, I noted it & continued with what I was doing.

Mine was temporarily like Simply said, the wider photo screen with the other thumbnails underneath instead of on left, different zoom feature, etc.  But the description definitely was on the same page, no clicking needed.  That was on Chrome, but I checked my other account which I only use on Safari (to keep myself from doing some goofy mess by accident) and it was the normal view.  Now my Chrome account one is back on normal view too.

On my iPad I was only able to see your photo and the item specifics and description show up in between rows of other sponsored items. I actually missed seeing the description and specifics the first time I looked at it. They were well hidden.

So weird!  I just checked their listings from my laptop on Chrome, and they look completely normal, old-school layout with all the stuff (including sponsored ads).
