A buyer started a return on May 6 and they went ahead and printed the return shipping label but it hasn't shown any postal scans yet. Fingers crossed this'll be one of those that just never ships back. But in the meantime, I think this may be my first return since I was onboarded to Managed Payments in March of 2021, and I didn't realize until today that the $221 is not on hold, but now that I do, I wonder why. Is it because I'm on MP, or because I'm a Top Rated Seller, or what?

Not sure I understand the difference. What would you call "a case"?

Well they started out by messaging me, and I just replied that if they want to do a return I offer free returns, and instructed them to hit 'Start Return'. A few hours later I saw that a return had been started and there was a tracking number for the return shipping label. I don't think I have EVER seen that "resolution center" thing before. Like what kind of "case" would go there? Like if you don't have Free Returns and try to refuse a return?

I think it change this last month or so when they revamped the payment section. I had a return open this morning(my fault) also had a charge back dispute open yesterday(not my fault), neither one put my funds hold like before or I can't see it.

Well this I just figured out, how to tell IF you have funds on hold. On your payments page, click All Transactions, and on that page you see if any items have their funds on hold.

And I see you are not a TRS so if you do indeed have zero funds on hold, then it's not about TRS.

They usually hold the money, but as mentioned earlier. They may be doing things different.
But do you have $221 to hold? It's possible they haven't done it if you don't have that amount already available.

Thanks for finding that but not showing funds on hold, hmm

I've made sales bigger than that since May 6 but nothing has been held from me.

Congratulations!! You've approached a cross-road and because you've been shown to be a really food ebayer/seller, your funds are not being Held! I remember when it happened to me, I almost fainted! I was so used to having enough money in my account for any returns, etc. that I was messaged that my money would "no longer be on hold"! I wondered if they were doing that anymore with all the changes, and here you are!
So, Again, big CONGRATS!! High-FIVE!!!

Maybe if you have a backup source such as a Credit Card?
I had a return last year but there were no pending funds to put on hold. Once I received the item back I selected the refund button and it I believe it was charged my Credit Card.
