Is eBay a healthy market for sellers?

I've been noticing over the past 5-7 months my eBay sales have come to a crawl. Obviously December is going to be high and January low, but I'm averaging sales comparatively to previous years. I went from making substantial profit shipping 3-5 items a day to going days without a sale. It's getting hard to want to continue and justify having a store and working so hard for so little. I work hard to keep my top rated seller and have amazing feedback, I have same or next day handling, I have everything as a best offer... I'm really at a loss for what to do.

1) I was curious if anyone else here is experiencing the same type of stagnating or negative sales trends?

2) Do you think eBay will bounce back?

3) Is the current eBay policy/culture and fees just too much combined with rising USPS costs?

4) If you are a veteran seller/having success what are some ideas for getting more visibility and sales?

***Thanks for reading my post and for any constructive feedback you may leave.***

I thank you so much for your praise and advice. It was heart warming!!! I have tried etsy but I found the site very difficult to use and just gave up on the idea of cross listing. I'm not real tech savvy at my age. What I was trying to get across was the fact that something has happened in the last 2 months that is causing my sales and others to come to an abrupt STOP. I was selling daily, reaching my sales goals and very happy with eBay until mid-March. Other then GTC, what WAS the change that was made that is doing this to us?!? I know you don't have that answer but if anyone else does, I would LOVE to hear any theories OR solutions. I'm at wits end over what is taking place right now.

Re: Is eBay a healthy market for sellers?

ebay has lobbyist and should be using them to do something about the postage increase.

Every time there is a postage increase, eBay gets a "raise".   They are not likely to try to negotiate lower postage costs when it is to their benefit if the rate went higher.

Oh, my.  I have been here so long I am beginning to think like ebay...LOL.

Yes sales aren't what they used to be . I began to notice a change  2 or 3 months ago . I do think the rise in postal  fees will continue to hurt sellers. In fact  I expect  the  shipping  fees to go even higher  until finally a lot of online  sellers just  give up all together . As far as the seller fees go I've heard that e bay has the lowest rates  among all . So not sure what to make of that. It's getting increasingly difficult to pay them  and when you are selling so little  it's almost impossible . It seems like the  seller fees stay the same and even possibly go higher  no matter how little you sell .  Low / no sales could have a lot of contributing factors  so I don't believe it's just one or two.  The bad weather  ex. a multitude of tornados   could be contributing  to the recent slumps .  I don't know HOW I'll be paying my bills next month and get sick to my stomach every morning when I see it's ANOTHER "no sales" day. This is VERY sad for those of us who depend on eBay to supplement our Social Security.

Sadly, it appears that an increasing number of ebay sellers are currently facing adversity and may leave ebay due to poor sales.

Very true, sometimes I forget who we're talking about, but ebay better wake up and starting looking into it, when international shipping went above $10 shipping, my international sales stopped.
