I have a potential buyer who has sent me their zip code so I can calculate shipping costs. BUT...I get this message when trying to open his message: The question you are trying to answer is either invalid or older than 90 days. You cannot respond to questions older than 90 days.
He just sent it today! Frustrating. I've closed and reopened, tried accessing in all the areas where I can possibly see messages, but no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I do use Firefox, so maybe switching to chrome might help. Thanks for the suggestion.
I use chrome and have the problem on occasion. It's not the browser it's in eBay's code. Something in the code is checking, and screwing up, the date of the message.

@simply-the-best-for-you I didn't remember what we had decided about the browser - but I remember doubting that Firefox, Edge or poor dear old dead Internet Exploder or anything else would prompt such a specific message.
@dbfolks166mt I also think it's a skrooed up script.
The other day I got a message that one of my auto payments was going to expire for a utility I use. I checked it and it has misread the expiry date of 03/26 the month-year as the month DAY rather than the month YEAR. Probable similar.

@chapeau-noir All I meant is that we had people with various browsers, who were getting the message, so switching to another browser wouldn't make a difference. I don't recall anyone specifically suggesting that a browser was prompting the message. Of course it was a LONG time ago, so I could have forgotten something! All I meant for OP though, was that switching browsers isn't going to fix it.

i nave had this bug. when other issues come up the first thing I do is use a different browser. usually a different browser solves the issue. Next day or two I go back to chrome and all works again.

I've had this happen before - You can access the message when you get that stupid notice - Heres the thing, you can one way you try to access the message will give you this message and the other will not, just cant remember which one it is - If you are trying to access the message from your item page go to your regular mailbox and you you should be able to access it there or vice-versa. If that doesnt work, it could even be another place where you can access it from - Search around the different places you can access item messages and you'll find you can open it and respond no doubt.

Strange. Been on Ebay for years and have NEVER seen that BUG. My guess is you have computer problems. Try clearing your cache.
Nope, it is truly a periodic bug and clearing the cache doesn't help, at least in my case. I don't use email so just answer the message from "Messages" in the upper right hand corner of the seller hub.
It's an odd glitch because it'll come and go - I didn't have it for several months, and then it came back today. I doubt it's a browser issue because the message is eBay specific, but?
It's not a browser issue, we've been through that before. I agree @chapeau-noir , as I was responding yesterday, I realized I hadn't seen it for a long time & then sure enough, last night, I got one, after not seeing it for months either. So you're not alone with that aspect.
devon@ebay Thank you Devon. It's been open for a long time, any possibility of getting an update? @myatticcorners1 you can contact eBay Customer Support as Devon mentioned & give them the ALERT number he posted.
Hey @simply-the-best-for-you! I will reach out and try to see if I can get a more up to date insight for what may be going on. If I am able to I will be sure to let you know!
