Perhaps a few months or years of having to go to the post office to drop packages and collect mail will teach you not to threaten people.
Just curious as to why you felt the need to publicly post your actions (called OP's police and postmaster) on this forum for all to see? If you wanted the OP to know what you did, since you seem very proud of it, you could have just private messaged the OP and told him. Why the need to post it publicly on this board? Why was it important to you for all of us to know what actions you took? Just curious as it seems quite odd.

hmm no severe ice, all deliveries and pickups same as always, no snow in front of the box, she is delivering as usual, roads are as town maintains them, issues with it she needs to call the town so she can do her job and yes i have gone out and chipped away at any small patch of ice on an otherwise clear road. she would have to be blind to fall on the road.
My first post was in response to the OP, which contained the ice comment so that seemed to be your main gripe. You did not go into extensive detail until later. The extensive detail prompted me to post that you might want to consider calling your Postmaster. You can go to the Post Office if you want a face to face meeting~but that may be the only way to resolve this. I wish you luck.

If I were to rate my carrier from five years ago, I would rate him 20 out of 10. Absolutely professional, dedicated, hard-working, courteous, and never made mistakes. He deserved twice of what he was earning.
The problem with good workers (and this happens a lot) is that the employer just dumps more and more work on the person doing a good job, to take up the slack from others. The route grew to be the biggest in the city. I could SEE the toll it was taking on our carrier. He was exhausted and finally asked to be transferred to another route.
So, I got a new carrier. Good worker, I'd give her 8 out of 10. Courteous, did the job, but something had changed and relief workers showed up more often than in the past.
Now? It's day and night, in other words... night. Packages get BENT and crushed and misshapen from being stuffed into the mailbox. Two packages have disappeared in the last year (stolen? misdelivered?). I get mail for my neighbor. Sometimes the doors for the mailboxes are open. The doorbell is almost never rung if a package comes to the porch, it is just left there in the rain, vulnerable to theft (even if I'm home). The other day a package was stuffed in the mailbox STICKING 6" out of the box for my neighbor.
Rating? No more than 5 out of 10 and there are often different carriers so I don't even know who's responsible. I don't know if it's the regular carrier or the relief workers, and I don't want to complain about the regular carrier just in case the relief workers are the ones dropping the ball.

If you don't have the local PO phone number, call the 800 number and they will tell you they can do anything the local Post Office can. I said, great! Can you tell me if I left _______________ in the lobby?
She gave me the number.
You can actually find the phone number for every location on their website by clicking on locations. Once that comes up put in your zip code and search for the PO only nearest you and when you see the one you want click on it and the site will take you to their actual information with hours of operation as well as the phone numbers to that actual PO. Very quick and easy and is what i use when I see that a package has been out for delivery and did not get delivered (scanned as delivered). I call the PO the next day so they can talk to the carrier and get it fixed immediately to Delivered. That website has so much information that the local PO's many times would rather you not have or know about as well as the ability to file complaints and complements on individual carriers/counter workers and even the Postmaster which are sent to the district and become part of that persons personnel file so that the local PO cannot take care of their friends. Amazing how well it works even when leaving a compliment as I got a call from the district when I sent in 3 compliments about employees on one day and they wanted to make sure that I had not accidentally clicked the wrong box on the form. When I said no that they had all been very helpful the person thanked me and said they would make sure a copy got into each of their files.

If you file the complaint the day it happened or even a couple of days later and let them know you do not know which carrier it was they have the easy ability to look up who was on the route that day and take care of the issue. When i have called other PO's about items not scanned delivered, they were able to tell me exactly who delivered on that date and when it was a relief carrier they even told me they would not be back for a couple of days but they would check with them then. The supervisor followed up and called me back to state the carrier did in fact remember the package and that he had changed it to delivered in their system.
Truthfully even 5 out of 10 is not even close to acceptable and I would file a complaint. My great carrier is retiring at the end of this month which makes me worry some, but the postmaster took the time to call me and let me know that they were already making the new carrier on the route next to mine aware of the special arrangement of picking up my scheduled packages since my route is a training route now. She said if there were any problems just call as we already had set up and somebody would be out to get my items but that she really did not expect any issues as this carrier has been with them a long time also and even the guy retiring said I would be well taken care of. So file the complaints if you get bad service or they have no way to try and correct it.

That's great info to know. My incident happened a long time ago and the only info you could get online was the 800 number. Despite their insistence that they could handle anything the local PO could, there are things that they can't, and I really did need to speak to the local PO. I then made sure to put that number in my address book. It's nice to know that this info is now more accessible. It's great that you complimented those workers! I have always thought that most people are unappreciated and it costs nothing but a little time to compliment someone.

Because I get enough exercise jumping through ebay hoops with no need to get more jumping to conclusions?

As I said in an earlier post, I have known many a carrier.
They have included some who enjoyed their job so much - including the one who was bit 3 times - that they had no intentions of retiring - that they planned to work as long as they were able to.
Then the post office bought machines that would sort the mail. The carriers were given more and more mail to deliver, including more packages to deliver - thanks to online shopping becoming so popular - and also more houses on their routes.
So as a result, a lot of the older carriers retired - including the one with 3 dog bites. So then, the Post Office has to hire new people to do the job. Many of them will quit after seeing the work load. And the ones that don't quit.....
If you are lucky, and thank goodness, I have been - you get a replacement that will try to do their best. But just as in the rest of the world, you get so-so workers.
I went to a fast food place. The person who takes my order stands with their back to me having a conversation with the food preparer.
Another - I am at a buffet, and I overhear workers complain how they are not getting any tips. Well no wonder. They just stood there instead of doing their jobs of cleaning the tables off between refills ( you were required to get a new plate each time you would go up to the buffet). My sister-in-law ended up cleaning our table between servings.
Or the story in my paper the other day about how people who were flying to another city - unexpected stop at another airport due to an emergency - 16 hungry people - only 1 place open at that time - 1 hour to get food - and the THREE workers behind the counter who could not move slow enough.
So yes - you get good with bad. Good luck to the OP and I do hope that they gets their situation sorted out.

I don't know how to edit - What I meant to say:
I went to a fast food place. The person who is supposed to takes my order stands with their back to me having a conversation with the food preparer.
Another time I went to a large box store with a return. I went up to the counter where the two workers were and basically was told I would have to wait until their conversation was complete - their dates from the night before.
As you see I can go on with instances of workers not doing their jobs - mostly it seems with restaurants ![]()

interesting isn't it? Mod private messages me about blah blah blah, yet this person does threaten me personally, not just saying what they would like to do, BUT what they have done, and mods do nothing. This person didn't do anything they said, how do i know? we don't have a police dept 🙂 sounds like there are issues, just not on my end 🙂

You have a solid complaint about the carrier and expressing a "I'd like to.... " well holy crimmy, I've said that... I tell my cat all the time that if he keeps being a pill I'm going to..... and no one calls the ASPCA on me.
Some people are just angry inside always. They look for things to get angry about, things to make into an issue. They 'feed' like emotional vampires... and frankly, that's just very sad. Ignore and move on. Your problem is real and I hope you come back to tell us if the online complaint form works for you -- as I think it will!
