Is anyone adding a gift wrapping option for the holidays? If so, how do you do it?? LOL

I am thinking of adding a gift wrapping option to a small group of listings for the holidays. I know for a fact that the option has saved me in the past as a buyer on other sites and I would like to offer that same option to my customers. When I search online I find postings from 2014 about it saying that the option was removed years earlier. So are there any sellers out there that are offering this? If so would you please share with me how you are doing it? I’ve thought of making a template to add in the description of those listings but I haven’t used templates yet since all of my items are vintage one off listings so any help is appreciated! Thanks so much!

I just sent messages to the buyers and asked if they would like them gift wrapped. Be sure and take note that you will need larger boxes for a gift wrapped box so it arrives safely without damages to your wrapping and bows. Good luck!

After reading the boards for several years I have observed the following:

1) Sellers who rec'd a neg. because the buyer did not like the "free" gift included with their purchase.

2) Sellers who rec'd a neg. or neutral because the gift wrap was not satisfactory to the buyer.

3) Buyers who will ask for a discount if you will not " gift wrap".....

Oh the possibilites are endless..................................

Also, are you ready to take specific orders for a specific type/style of wrap? Are you ready for questions about bows, ribbons, gift card inserts on and on and on?

Just some thoughts - most buyers are great and will love what is provided - but also most buyer just want what they ordered fast and in as described condition.

I thought of doing that last year but saw somewhere in the seller rules that you have to get ebay approval or some kind of icon or thingy in order to officially offer it. I don’t remember where I saw it, but I concluded that I didn’t want to jump through the approval process hoops so I nixed that idea. You might call CS to get more info.

When I read your post, I thought, "What a great idea!" I am nothing short of famous for my creative gift-wrapping abilities. Well, okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but some of my friends have said my gift wrapping is better than the gift inside. Not sure whether that speaks well of my gift wrapping or is an insult to my gift buying . . .

That being said, I'm thinking about how I would wrap the gifts to insure minimum damage from shipping. Okay. Got that figured out. Then I wondered how I'd list it. Right. Got that, too.

And then I wondered about SNADs. If buyers order a gift, let's say, this weekend, and it's already gift wrapped for Christmas, what happens if there's an issue with the item? Not that sellers should be inviting SNADs, but things do happen. We've seen a couple threads recently about sellers accidentally shipping the wrong item. It would be one thing if it were closer to Christmas--within the time frame for a return--but someone might be awfully disappointed on Christmas morning.

Just a thought.
