We're out of listings and could use some freebie buy it nows or auctions. doesn't matter. also noticing when we search for items to buy there is a shortage of items for sale. seriously seems like the inventory on ebay is shrinking for the worse. we'll just wait and buy when theres another auction promotion. that's when you get the best deals.

I think there has only been one promo so far this month, and I didn't get it either. I usually get one each month, so I'm hoping it is coming in the next week.

My seller account received 100 free listings. Good thing, as if I had to pay for them, I wouldn't be listing. IMHO, eBay is in it's death-throws. Few views, slim-to-none sales, and too many "hoops". Why pay for a dead horse??

eBay just dumped another dud on us that expired on the 14th, it was the free auctions promo, I used exactly ZERO of them !!
eBay marketplace executives think sellers still like auctions, but I don't pick up trash off the curb any longer, so I never use their auction freebies.

If you are talking about sales on your account being in their death throes, I'm sure you are right.
But eBay has been slowly and steadily growing their gross merchandise sales to about $20 billion each quarter for the past couple years.
So if you are talking about the venue itself, I would suggest your prediction might be a little premature.

And yet we still see sellers here who DO use and appreciate the auction format here and moan over the fact that Ebay has abandoned their original focus of AUCTIONS and blah, blah, blah.
As with it all, do what works for you. Take what you can use as the extra free listing offers come around and skip the rest. It isn't required that you participate, you know. Etc.....

Feel free to work for nothing if you want to just because eBay wants to promote their dead horse listing format no one will pay for any longer.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Just wondering if they are still rotating some promo's around, it seems like nobody has gotten any 1,000 free buy it nows or anything recently though. That stinks. Maybe we're just missing out, if we got 1,000 freebies we'd never have time to waste on the boards. Here's an old link on the topic , not sure if it's still relevant. Thanks again!

Been that way for 5 years now............Google this:
Snap Gages
Tell me if you see anything come up in Google leading to eBay, if not you have your answer why eBay is dead.

Often will get very unreliable results when you judge the health and profitability of someone else's business by how well or poorly your own is doing. Millions of eBay sellers. Lots of little guys and some very big guys who are still individuals, but who made it work for them. Some thrive. Some fail.
Makes me think of that Amway thing, and so many that are set up like that. For all the new little members who join up and want to make it work, most won't make it. But always, there are some who succeed and reach the top. I suppose the ones that aren't able to develop their businesses are prone to say it's impossible to make it work like that these days...

Been waiting for a BIN listing promo myself... usually seem to get at least one a month, but that hasn't happened lately. Wondering if eBay is changing the way they do promotions?

They can't afford NOT to give out free promotions, so just be patient.

As we've seen displayed in words and attitude on these boards over all these years, some don't do well here. Ebay isn't hard to do, but it isn't a gimme either. Some thrive. Many fail at this. "Ebay isn't for everyone" is something we see stated fairly often here.
So it's understandable that some would be very bitter if it didn't work for them as easily and as richly as they had dreamed it would. One heck of a lot of competition in almost every area online these days. It's hard to find that balance where you offer what will sell at prices that buyers will pay, in areas of merchandise that aren't buried in a mountain of the same thing.
Sorry your results are making you unhappy here. Good luck in your future.

LOL, let me simplify this for you, eBay died when Google dropped the hammer on them 5 years ago, if not for Donahoe's value added fees on shipping, eBay would have been showing NEGATIVE NUMBERS TO WALL STREET FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS !!!
