Is Wednesday going to be the Fall Seller Update? How about a little advance notice ebay?

devon@ebay   Some of us like to set aside time to review the new Seller Updates when they first come out, and, judging by the last three Fall Seller Updates, this Wednesday is the likely day for the Fall Seller Update. Could you confirm that it will be this Wednesday? And if it is not going to be Wednesday, can you tell us the date it is scheduled for? TIA!

I've asked too, but they had not heard back from the team that handles it by Friday.  I've also not seen any announcements about it either.

If it is going to be tomorrow, they're being very careful not to give us any hints or the usual tell tale signs. 🤣

In April for the Spring Update, Griff and Brian let the cat out of the bag a day early on the podcast. They're being very tight lipped this time around.

Griff: Oh yeah. That's right. You'll be hearing this after the Labor Day weekend has ended. Yeah.

Brian: So hopefully everyone enjoyed their three day weekend and is ready for the fall.

Griff: Yeah. Cuz it all starts now. Today it all starts.

Brian: Yes. Summer is done.

Griff: Summer is done. And if you aren't planning for the holiday season, the holiday shopping season...

Brian: You're behind...

I also know one sign we all used to look for was canceling the weekly chat. We don't have a weekly chat here any more, but they do still have one on the UK boards.

eBayUK usually announces seller updates on the same day as US, not sure if they have historically canceled chat that day or not, but I did notice tomorrow's scheduled chat is still on, at least for now.

All of that is just speculation of course and it could go either way - we'll just have to wait and see!

The Community leaders moved the Weekly chat to a Monthly Chat on the second Wednesday of each month.  Each of the Monthly Chats are subject specific.

Whenever it is, Sellers will not be thrilled with it.  Figured it would be shortly before the September changes already announced?

@mam98031  thanks but I'm well aware of that, which is why I said we don't have a weekly chat any more.

My point was in the past many community members here looked to that as a sign about impending seller updates and that the UK board *does* have a weekly chat and they *are* still holding that weekly chat tomorrow.

Since UK and US usually announce seller updates on the same day, I thought that might be useful info for those who are trying to guess when the Fall Update might be.

@donsdetour  yep, this is one of those pieces of "seller feedback" that has been rattling around the old feedback loops for years but for some reason eBay thinks it's still a great idea to make everyone fret and wonder and guess.

I was surprised in April when Griff announced it the day before on the podcast, usually we don't even get that much. I had hoped that might mean eBay had finally seen the error of their ways and decided to give sellers at least a little notice, but not holding my breath on that one.

@donsdetour true, warning won't change what's in the update.

However, since updates also usually come along with dedicated discussion boards here for sellers to ask the community and seller update teams questions about the update - and those boards are usually only open for a certain amount of time after the update is released - many sellers would appreciate the heads up so they can adjust their schedules if needed to be able to participate in those discussions.

I disagree.  If what has been said by another poster about the upcoming Fall Seller Update is true.  I never remember anytime Ebay did this.

Ebay use to announce a week before a Seller Update was released via the Announcement board.  If my memory is correct, the last Update was only announced a day or two before it was released.  I might be wrong about that.
