Is USPS killing anyone else's delivery stats?

Since the first of the year, USPS service levels have been dropping with no end in sight.  I ask why and all I get is "we're short on carriers", "we don't have enough vehicles", "we're training new staff", and the infamous "I don't know".

 

In the past 6 weeks, we have not had 5-day pickup service to our retail store.  The mail that was finally picked up today has been sitting since last Thursday (6/16 to 6/22).  And I suspect today will be the only pickup we have for the week... 😞  Weekends are just gone - haven't had a Saturday pickup in months, even before the "cost saving" service reductions went into effect.

 

My day job ships a couple hundred orders a week.  We spend thousands on USPS postage every month.  Everything is bagged cleanly and with clear thermal labels.  And this is the service we get?  Really?

 

I'm beginning to think the issue with eBay sales is not anything usually... it's buyers not coming back after USPS mucks up our deliveries... and the competition (Amazon) gets things delivered in 1-3 days.  I've even had to switch much of my online purchasing to Amazon -- when I buy something, it's because I need it, not because I want to wait until I've forgotten why I needed it for it to be delivered.

 

I apologize if I've offended or irritated or annoyed anyone.  It's getting nuts and the 100+ temps in Memphis are not helping.  Maybe I should just retire and learn how to whittle.....

Quick update: as of 06/27, USPS has now 'lost' 4 First Class Letters (standard #10 business envelope) and those customers have opened INR cases.  With USPS not even doing their own scans locally, I'm sure the eBay scans for the ESUS tracking is even worse.

 

Why my June listings end, I'm going to put my account on hiatus - I'm just not going to post anything that I have to ship until USPS gets it's act together.  I can't support having to refund half of what I take in due to 'issues' with a vendor.

 

I hate to do it, but I don't really see any other choice.

Two of the four have pushed for their refunds.  One agreed to repay when/if the order is delivered, the other gave no response to my request, so I'm assuming that's a "no way - I like free stuff!" response.

 

We actually had mail pickup nearly every day this week!  Too bad we're still not getting consistent scans - I check yesterday's shipments each morning to see what got scanned and what did not.  Still way to much 'did not' and no clear pattern to why.

 

Same thing with my personal sales - different post office completely, same problems.  That's why I'm taking my hiatus - and I'm taking a few afternoon's off each week (may have to switch to mornings off) to work on clearing the house.  The guests have moved out, youngest is coming tomorrow to move furniture, and we've got another 300 sq feet of storage space to fill up.  I need to start emptying and moving the rack units from the garage into the new space - vertical to the max!!

Where I am usps is doing well/normal.  Fedex has recently become unreliable and their delivery times are no longer accurate.

Yes !!! USPS has completely destroyed me by not scanning my packages. USPS picks up my packages and never scans the packages so nothing shows till its delivered and hopefully on time.  I have never shipped anything out late. I think this metric needs to be either removed or changed.
