If I were to ask you which was better ... a dump truck  or a bicycle ... you would probably answer by saying "it depends".

If you have plenty of free listings, running the 10 day listing 3 times is better.  You will have 3 times the opporutunity to be seen.  A lot of people search using "recently listed" or "ending soon".

Buyers may not feel the same sense of urgency with a thirty day listing as they might with a ten day listing.

I agree that 10 day listings seem to draw more lookers and buyers.

When I've run 30 day listings it'd be crickets from day 2 thru 29

I think the longer timeframe of thirty days can lead to someone placing it on their Watch List and taking their time about making a decision.  After all, the listing is for thirty days.

The thirty day listing most likely gets noticed in the beginning when it is newly listed and at the end when it becomes ending soonest.  Quite the lag in between, though.

It depends what you're selling and how many similar items there are.   There is no urgency to buy an item if there are 50 similar items for sale.

Of course you do take the chance that someone else will come along and buy it right out from under you if you place it on your Watch List and don't move on it quickly. I have had that happen more than once.

Depends whether you want your item to sit unsold for 10 days or 30!

"A lot of people search using "recently listed" or "ending soon"."

That's why I wish there was an option for 1 day fixed price listings.

If there was would you pay a dollar for it?

Yes for sure I'd pay the extra dollar unless it was something of a really low value. I often pay the dollar fee for 1 day auctions which work out really well for certain items like gold, silver, coins, etc.

That's interesting.

Would like to do more 3 day auctions but the price isn't worth it for my stuff and size.

Either or, but that's really not the issue. Your main concern should be your listing limit and cost. Say you have 100 free listings per month, if you list 100 items for 30 days, you're covered. If you list 100 items at 10 day intervals and they relist (automatically), you just bought 200 listings you didn't intend.
