I had a buyer from Canada request a cost on shipping. I told him I have a shipping calculator on my listing. He said every time he tried to use it there was an error. I went to the listing, everything looked right. I told him I did not know what to do that it all looked good on my end. And I have sold many items international including Canada. Then he sent me a message saying he bought it from someone else.
Anyone else having this issue?

I have hit this problem a couple of times. What was he trying to buy? There is a good possibility that you cannot ship the item to Canada. The time I hit the issue in Canada was with a martial arts weapon which you cannot ship to Canada. It depends on what category you had the item listed under. The other time was with some German lead WW II soldiers that could not be shipped to Germany.

Did your would-be buyer say that they had bought through ebay's checkout? Had they asked you to text them with the shipping information?
Not that ebay doesn't have a glitch or twenty going on at any one time or another, but it sounds like the beginning of a potential scam.

I sell automotive parts. It was a headlight and I have shipped them to Canada before.

I didn't think of it that way, it didn't seem like a scam. But I didn't make the sale so I'll never know.

No issues with Canada - sold 1 today.
Wonder if he was fishing for an off e-bay sale?

Maybe, because the first thing he asked was for a price on shipping.

Probably thought you might cut him a deal.
Did you check your BBL box to see if it blocked him recently - perhaps caught that way? Usually shows past 30 days, unless another glitch.

You can check it out yourself by looking at one of your own listings...Select Canada and find a canadian postal code to enter in the shipping location. Then see if it calculates shipping correctly.

Definite phish. Had you answered with a hard cost, the next words out of his mouth would be..."I'll offer you..."

Just looked at my Buyer Requirements Activity log - e-Bay blocked 3 lately with too many unpaid item strikes. Yay!!

When I looked at OP's listings is was calculating shipping to Canada but not for the first two headlight listings that came up-It shows an error on those.

What specific listing was it?
There is probably something wrong with the listing, to me I see you have 304 current listings but if I switch to .ca then you only have 303 (same with .de, .it and .es).
When this happens it usually means the shipping is not set correctly for those countries.

The dodge ram headlight has the same error. I put in M4B1B4 for zip code.
