Insulting Offers

Does anyone else get insulting offers?  I’m sure we all do, but I’ll get offers on expensive items that don’t even cover the sales tax I paid for the item 😱

Insulting Offers

The only way an offer can be "insulting" is if you take all of this personally. These people with their dopey offers don't know you, have never met you, and know nothing about what you paid for the item or where you got it. How can they insult you - with their own ignorance?

Just bang the button to delete the offer and forget about it.

I have...I just block the buyers of those offers...less 'drama' if they actually buy something...some might be trouble buyers.

On the happy side....people want your items..😁

True - at least they're seeing them! Everything is not all bad.

Insulting Offers

I share @12345jamesstamps  reaction to what I deem an insulting offer. I block the buyer.

The buyer may be an idiot, a pig or just a pain. It does not matter. I  block the buyer for my sake, but I also believe I do so out of respect for the item, which may have a history of greater consequence the generations of the buyer's family tree.

Buyers often do this because some sellers are so desperate and ignorant they will accept any offer, no matter how low it is.

Can't say that I get insulting offers, but I do get offers that are geared towards making the buying experience better for the buyer than for the seller. Some result in a reply to the buyer. Some just result in me having an increase of Best Buddies on my ever-growing list.

Insulting Offers

Seems to come in waves.  I don't get insulted but I do get fed up with the same would-be buyer making multiple ten dollar offers on the same NWT loungefly backpack (or similar item).  I recently removed "best offer" from my listings and turned off counteroffers.  I'll put them back when it becomes necessary, but I just can't be bothered with the nonsense right now.

I sell on Poshmark - let me tell you about ridiculous offers. 🙄

I give anyone who sells on Poshmark my admiration for dealing with "high maintenance customers" but I also admire anyone who sells "fashion clothing or accessories". But I also admire daredevils and other people who are crazy but not destructive.

I just decline the offer. If a buyer messages me I just say no thanks and move on. If they ask how much I tell them. They either agree or move on. It's all part of the business. It only takes 1 click to make a decision. If a buyer makes multiple item offers and continues I politely message them and say I am not interested in your 50%-80% off offers.

@mdicino

When you are adding the "Best Offer" to your listings, just input your minimum price/offer that you will allow. It is that simple and no reason to get caught up in the reasons why people are low balling you.

Insulting no, absurd perhaps.

I've gotten a few offers that were so low as compared to the quality & value of the offering that I could only surmise one of two things:

1. The alleged buyer thought it was stolen goods being sold & any amount was profit.

or

2. The alleged buyer was hoping that one would click on to accept the offer without mentally processing the amount (i.e. 10.00 looks like 100.00 in small type at 1AM while multi-tasking) thus legally obligating themselves to honor the price.

Can't imagine any other reasons because even if a person is desperate for dough, what are you going to do with 10 cents on the dollar (less fees)?

Absurd? 100%

insulting offers = block buyer

Wasting my time for a non-serious buyer.

I do not accept offers.

I do the exact same thing  with insulting offers as I do with non-insulting offers, I politely decline them.
