Good Morning, all!!
I ended all my listings and cancelled my store at the beginning of August rather than sign up for MP. My long standing eBay account has remained open for purchasing. In the back of my mind, there has always been the possibility of starting a new smaller account at some point to sell some of the huge inventory I have built up over the years.
While doing a search in the main category I sell in, I see that in addition to showing me the 200 per page items I am searching for, there will be 4 or 5 independent websites promoted at the bottom of each search page. These are links to those websites for the same type of items and include contact information outside of eBay. Is this a new feature that allows websites to buy space in the eBay search? There is lots of competition in the categories I sold in and it doesn't seem like good business to be directed to outside vendors.

This has been happening for years - these websites pay for exposure on eBay. Apparently eBay feels the money from this is worth directing their buyers off-site and out of the listings we pay for.

It's nothing new and it's not just the Search were you will see them.
Here is a screen shot from the bottom of a Sellers listing I was just
looking at. I see them all the time.
