It has become increasingly Impossible to try to operate a business properly on this platform, To properly support a business, you need a certain amount of sales to put back into the business, such as inventory, supplies, & multiple other expenses, & that is not happening here, not anymore, I feel I am being strong armed into increasing PL's & offering free shipping & free returns, & If I do not succumb my sales will forever be suppressed, Not what I signed up for when i started!!

Do you actually do much searching?
You know how many times I have searched for something, and a number of the same listings by the same seller, will end up on 5-6-7 pages in a row? And I'm not talking about promoted listings. The order may change, but the same listings keep showing up on different pages.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
I really hope that something comes through for you that you can get some help.

Not true. My items sold great for six weeks at the beginning of the year, then totally fell off the cliff in mid-Februrary. Nothing has changed except for eBay's algorithm kicking in to punish sellers--- even sellers with a dozen years of perfect service and not a single negative or neutral feedback ever--- just because they refuse to be extorted.
eBay changed.
We didn't.

@farmalljrInteresting you mention this, because on Poshmark they tinkered with search and the same phenomenon happened - the same listings, some from dead closets, some which hadn't been shared in months, occurred on every page - I saw one instance twice on one page. When the change was shown to be manifestly a failure with dumping sales and an angry user base, the CEO was man enough to admit it was a mistake and they've been fixing it, but the only reliable search since then has been brand-specific, AND activity/recency on the part of sellers. Posh is kind of digging in hard dirt, though, sales wise. I used to make bank on there but I've kind of run out of stuff to list there so it's a bit meh right now.

Much appreciated! After a long battle, I was down 1 month's rent+ owing and new rent was tacked on. Covered almost 3/4 of it. No luck finding the rest. Depends on how they see it. I eliminated all of the arrears & need to finish with April or I paid for April but not paid off the arrears. Do not know how I can be evicted if I owe for April & it is only the 5th!

Sure, you can "find them" if you go to his account and search for the exact title as he lists it,
and then search with those exact words.
That is NOT how potential buyers search.
It's ludicrous to suggest eBay isn't hiding items of the non-extorted. You call it whatever you want though, the effect is just as devastating, unfair and WRONG.

Right, and eBay is just proving with their pay-to-play extortion racket that they really just aren't very smart, and that is supported by all their nosediving statistics.
04-05-2023 05:47 PM
It's not the least bit funny.
04-05-2023 05:57 PM
Me too...except paying to play. I never signed up for that garbage 12 years ago, and I will not be coerced into it now, even if my items are buried forever and I never get so much as a sniff of a sale again.
What hurts, though, is all the effort and expenditure some of us put in before eBay basically went rogue. We did that based on the expectation that this was a partnership...i.e. give great service and eBay would just continue putting your offerings before the people.
Talk about breaking a solemn (assumed) promise.

Yes!! That must be it! 🙂

Multiple times a week when I'm pricing things to list, yes. I've never once seen that happen.

Ok, then why I am I seeing it? If I see it, how many others are? Why would eBay pick me, of all people, to do this to?
Maybe, just maybe, you aren't paying close enough attention.
Just because you haven't taken notice of it, doesn't mean it's not happening. As pointed out by another seller, this has happened elsewhere. I have witnessed it here on multiple categories.

@meme6253 You've got over 2,700 listings so there is no way I can search for you for the items you say are missing. Give me the title so I can do a search. Will be glad to return to show you the results.

@sailinship Agree, and my guess is at least 80% or more change that default so in reality best match is not much of an issue for sellers.

@sakic92710 wrote:Impossible to find it now but you definitely said it. I joked that you must be selling $5 banknotes for $3. My sell through rate?? LOL 0.000001 in 2023. I'm down to 3 listings now. Will be 0 by the weekend. I cannot come up with $950 that will keep me from being evicted after Easter. No home; no internet; no storage space for anything I own. No way to sell. It all comes to an end. Good luck to everyone! I wish you well!
Yikes... if you are stopping anyway why to just start over at the bare bones minimum asking prices. Skip the make offer and just do straight up buy it now immediate payment required. It may not be as much profit as you want but at least you will have money coming in. I could not fathom only have a 0.00001% sell through rate.
