I know it's Sunday & you won't see this right away. I just wanted to have you take a look & send to the tech team, as this is odd.
My search criteria is
chico's purple red shirts (intentionally plural)
I get 28 results, 27 of which seem at a glance to fit the criteria (I know eBay search equates the plural & singular "shirt"). However, the problem is the #1 result does not meet ANY of my search criteria, neither in title, nor in IS's. It's not Chico's, it's not purple, it's not red & it's not a shirt. It is however Sponsored. It also sticks out like a sore thumb, as not meeting any of the criteria. Why would that result be #1?

@simply-the-best-for-you @chapeau-noir I just tried replicating it as well, and the tank tops result doesn't show up for me either.

Just double checking, you are using Best Match & no quotes just. Make sure you are using the PLURAL shirts , it doesn't come up if you just search shirt. Which is another weird, why type question.
chico's red purple shirts

Never mind. OMG, it's now gone for me too! WTH? It's like someone just fixed it. Well, I've got the screen shot, we know it happened LOL. I still get 26 results & the bad one is gone.
If I didn't know what I was doing, I would think I was losing my mind!

Gone Daddy Gone, the bad result is gone...

Thanks for the screen shot! I figured you had examined it but thought I'd ask anyway because I'm a completest lol. I brought up the listing as well and combed through it - I don't see any reason, either, even reading the code, why that would happen (to my knowledge). I'm really suspecting PLA/PLS argle bargle, as @my-cottage-books-and-antiques suggested. Unfortunately, although I read up a bit on it, I'm not very familiar with the new promotion scheme, having only used PPC on Etsy (lousy) and Google (used to be great).

Search is a mess..started back in May. Still not fixed as my sales continue the free fall months later. They say all is fine. No its not!!!

@chapeau-noir IDK much about the PPC ads either. I purposely didn't try them b/c I have not studied them enough to understand well.
velvet@ebay Though I must say that now the inconsistency in results is bothering me almost as much. I understand that results change constantly, but this is a very narrow search & to have the offending FIRST listing somehow disappear a few minutes later, is just WEIRD. Right. But weird.
I'm heading off to a massage. This will give me something to ponder during it LOL.

Hey @simply-the-best-for-you! I was able to recreate your search results (screen shot below). I also think it may be PLA/PLS related like @my-cottage-books-and-antiques suggested, but we'll see what the tech team says.

Edit to add: I hope you enjoyed your massage and way to go with the gym time @chapeau-noir 👏

Hi @simply-the-best-for-you! I've heard back from the tech team that they're unable to recreate the search results and now I'm not either. Are you still seeing those black tanks or do you get accurate results now as well?

Hey Velvet, I just tried it & am not getting the weird result anymore.
Is there any way to have Tech look at it sooner, when this stuff happens? This is the 2nd one recently that I have had screen shots of, but by the time they look at it, the bad results are gone. Since it often takes more than a week for them to look, this isn't unusual since eBay's offerings are not static. It's very frustrating to put in work, get the screen shots, in this case, even YOU were able to recreate the results, but since it's 11 days later, we don't see the same results anymore.

I'm glad you aren't seeing it anymore either @simply-the-best-for-you. Unfortunately, I can't speak to the time it takes for me to hear back from them though. Sometimes it seems like I get a reply within a day or two, other times it weeks or months. I'm sure there is a specific process in place as to how that all gets assigned out and worked, but I don't know what it is.
