Dear Ebay,
I have spoken to a chat agent and neither him or me can actually find an answer to this. So I'm going to try it here.
On my listing that sold today they used a Exchange rate: US $1.00 = EUR 0.93386. I'm genuinely confused as to how this number came to be?
Even using Ebay converter (https://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/currencyconverter.html) it doesn't even come close to this low.
Now of course those rates fluctuate all the time. But quoting the actual stats from the Ebay website provided: "Lowest its been in 90 days = 0.96203". And looking at any financial graph or converter around the world, you can't possibly find a rate this low.
So where does this come from? Very curious

Conversion rates can fluctuate from hour to hour. I've bought 5000 yen worth of points in one of my Japanese apps in the morning and had the price be $34. When I bought points later on that evening in another app, it was $37.

Maybe they slipped a fee in there, like 1$ sale =$0.15...

you might ask on the German board and see if anyone has some insights......since this is the US and usually we don't have that much insight into currency conversion....

Generally speaking, the commercial rates are NOT the same as eBay rates. There are also fees for conversion. In the past, when we dealt more with PayPal and could have a stored balance in other currencies, the rates were unfavorable apparently by design to prevent profiting from market fluctuations that would be advantageous to the holder of such stored currency balances.
