Is there a big difference in sales if you Immediate Payment Vs. Not Immediate Payment? I'm kind of getting annoyed with buyers buying an item but not paying. Will requiring immediate payment annoy buyers and possibly hinder them from buying what I sell? Thanks!

I don't use IPR because a lot of my buyers request an invoice through the shopping cart for combined shipping on heavier items.
If that's not a factor for you, then I don't see any problem with using IPR.

If listing as IPR is going to put a buyer off, then IMO you don't want that buyer anyway.
BIN with IPR weeds out the time wasters and kids on school holidays playing on mum or dads account.

I just switched back to IPR after years without it. I've never noticed a difference in sales, the problem with it is if you have items where you have a lot of multiple sales. IPR is a problem with multiple sales b/c they have to pay for each individually. So the decision should be based mostly on whether you have lots of multiple Shopping Cart sales or not.
I have a fair number of multiple sales, but half of those don't use the Shopping Cart anyway & I'm manually combining anyway.

I use IPR only and wouldn't consider anything else. Buyers can check out through the shopping cart for multiples, or I just combine if they don't.

I don't do auctions or best offer and only use IPR.
I've had a few buyers purchase a couple different items and they haven't complained about it.

Can they? I didn't think they could if you have IPR. Maybe that's changed.
For me, it was no big deal to not have IPR. Over the last 3 years or so, my stats were 98% paid immediately, 1% paid within 24 hrs & once or twice a year, I'd have an NPB. I just didn't have enough of an issue to bother with IPR & I had way more customers who bought multiples, than I had NPB's. But the other day I got 2 NPB's in a row & it PO'd me, so I added IPR to everything after 3 or 4 years without having it.

In regards to your question...Immediate payment checked off. Just do it. You'll like the results. Good luck to you.

Not the SERIOUS buyers.

Most buyers know to add to cart if they want multiple items from you and those that don't, well, they don't.
I only use IPR.

Well, they wouldn't be the ones that complained. It's you, the seller, doing all the extra work of manually combining.
ETA: And all the associated refunding for combined shipping, etc.

That has NOT been my experience at all. At least 50%, including many regulars, have no clue how to do it or don't b/c the Cart has always been glitchy. I'm sure my demographic is part of it though.

I don't know about sales, but requiring immediate payment will save you far, far more in time (and time is money) than any lost sales. And it will also save you the aggravation of chasing down payments.

But that's really minimal hassle, and to me worth it to have IPR. I've had enough offers I've sent been accepted and then not paid for to decide to keep doing what I'm doing. My regulars know what's up, and periodically someone who isn't a regular will add a note to their purchase alerting me that they purchased an item, then found another and got that, too (most people use the shopping cart), or I notice it. I appreciate the heads up and don't mind combining and refunding.
As for the shopping cart - it was glitchy but its been much better lately - my buyers haven't had any problems with it in quite a while.

For me, it has nothing to do with the amount of sales I get. It is all about what I'm selling.
For example, all my craft stuff is NOT IPR. The reason is I often have buyers come through and buy several things and then they will naturally want to combine their shipment to save on shipping. I of course love these types of buyers and I encourage this behavior.
Now when I was selling more high end items, I had IPR on those listings as it was not worth the risk to me regarding non payers. It served me well.
So you just need to look at what you are selling. Maybe your answer isn't a one size fits all like it was for me. Some things work well with IPR and others don't.
