I have to set IPR for every single listing whether it's a new listing, a "sell similar" or a "I have one to sell".
Is there any way to make IPR default?

No. Maybe because eBay thinks you still might list auctions without buy it now. I tried to list auctions with a business policy payment profile with IPR and it would always error out.

I have it on every listing as well and assumed it is now the default. In eBay 2.0 it looks like a new preference in the business policies payment section.
(I'm still at a loss to understand these new policies...)

you could probably build it into a listing template

@inhawaii I had the same quest a few months ago when the new listing tool was at first allowing IPR globally like in the classic listing tool- but suddenly changed to now it does not, and you have to select it every time. A merchant support agent did point out to me that "buy it now" is inherently immediate payment anyway so the setting really does not do anything anymore. Auctions cant require IPR. Best offers sent by the sellers cant require IPR, and more and more if a buyer wants to make an offer- ebay gets their payment info so it is immediate payment when seller accepts.
I just stopped selecting that box when listing( -its a huge pain in the rear to jump in and out of popup boxes to add it), and i have not noticed any change in sales or payment timing.
What scenario are you finding delay in payment?
