Im needing to speak to an higher authority than normal CSR

I sold an xbox 360. The buyer said it didn't work so I accepted the return. The returned item had a different serial number etc and was missing the 250gb hard drive. I sent a rebuttal to this return as it had the seal that shows it was opened and a totally different serial number and no hard drive. I sent this info and photos to ebay and they still sided in buyers favor. I messaged the buyer after they sided in his favor about the hard drive missing and in an ebay message the buyer stated "oh im sorry I must of forgotten to put it back in the system." I messaged ebay on this and since it was a 55 dollar item i let it slide to the back of my priorities, but now im seeing I have a mark on my account because of this. The fact that the buyer admitted to not returning the hard drive should automatically make the dispute go in my favor with no strike on my account. The CSR couldn't help, so please i need to contact someone that can take a look at the messages from this ebay member.

@bayareaauction77

You may want to reach out to social media via Facebook:

These agents are US CS eBay employees and may better serve you and your situation.  Many positive posts with their ability to be helpful.  In the past they were helpful concerning my issue at hand.  Give it a try...it might be worth it.

Good luck!

Chances are pretty good that you have that "mark" simply because the buyer opened a case.  The results, don't matter, just that the case was opened.  If you had decided to immediately refund the buyer and let them keep the product for free, that "mark" still remains.

Basically, there is no seller protection for "faulty returns".  You can report the buyer and sometimes eBay will kick you back up to $6 to compensate you for the return shipping.    The eBay policies say, a buyer is supposed to return the item in the same condition as they received it, but if they send you back the proverbial brick instead of your item, they are refunded from your proceeds anyway.

It is an automated system, and CService is no longer allowed to intervene in these issues.  All that matters is the reason that the buyer chose to file the claim.  At that point whatever the buyer choses determines the outcome.  What they "say" in the complaint does not matter, nor do any messages exchanged.  What you have as a description and photos no longer count at all.  Basically, you agree to become the victim of this when you sign up to use eBay, and the policies outlined in their TOS/user agreement.

Yes, it should. But it doesn't.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.  Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is.  Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message.  It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/eBay/

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left.  If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options.  Not all options are available 24/7.  It will depend on staffing available.  So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't.  Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me.  If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

Nothing will be reversed "automatically" once the buyer wins a case against you. You have to be proactive. Have you tried asking for the appeals department and telling them your whole story? The serial number issue I don't know if they will even listen to you because it can't be proven and photos can be fake or doctored. But if you have ebay documented record of the buyer admitting to not returning the item to you completely, they might dive further into that. I'm not sure if they'll honor a full payout since they might say you received SOMETHING back. But it might be worth a shot. I'm interested to find out what happens if you do so keep us posted.

We would never suggest using "X" aka Twitter. Musk eliminated over half of the employees from the security team.

Social media sites sell all types of information to anyone willing to pay including foreign governments. Nothing is secure about private messages, there is a recorded record of everything.

I give the member the options Ebay has for Customer Service.  It is up to the member to decide what method is best for them, not me.
